One of the things that makes me so mad about how people are reacting to this virus is the elderly and the nursing homes. Those people don't leave those facilities. They're residents, it's their home. People have brought the virus into their homes. This virus doesn't move itself, people move it, spread it. So many of our elderly have died and it's hardly even a blip on anyone's radar. You rarely hear Governors or even the President speak about them losing their lives.

People are protesting, saying they want everything to open back up. While I understand that people are tired of being "stuck at home" (they're totally looking at it the wrong way...they *get* to be at home with their families) if we open everything back up too early, we'll just get hit by another wave of infections and more will die. Just a few days ago a 10 day old baby tested positive for COVID-19 in Kentucky. The baby is so far doing fine (thankfully) but it's untelling what kind of damage (hopefully none) can and will be done to this innocent child, all because people weren't diligent about social distancing, hand washing, and self isolating.

I hate that people are sick. I really do. But I am thankful for the time that I get to spend at home right now with my family. Our bellies are full, our pantry looks like Costco (lol), we're healthy and haven't been sick, all our bills are paid and we're very comfortable. We've been able to do things together the last few weeks that we normally didn't get to do because we got so busy with "life".

What I know about the way forward from this, is highly dependent upon the actions people take in the very near future. So for anyone feeling "trigger happy" to get out; sit tight for now and do your best to be patient. It will be far too easy to fall ill if we rush back out into the world and forget the lessons we've learned (or were supposed to learn) while in lock down.
