You can see that because the railway bed is made of sand, it washes away very quickly once it starts to go. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1361275If you think this is a sign of 2012...um, that's just retarded. so I take it you have seen this type of thing before?, and the video was just ho-hum and you would rather call me out as stupid?...I think that says more about you than me..just sayin! |

( dammed ?) Benjamin Franklin left the Constitutional Convention in 1787, He was approached by a Mrs. Powell, who asked him, "What have you given us, Dr. Franklin?" "A Republic," he replied, "If you can keep it. "If you want to make someone angry, tell him a lie; if you want to make him furious, tell him the truth. All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed, second it is violently opposed, and third, it is accepted as self-evident". - A. Schopenhauer Philosopher" [link to www.youtube.com] |

Hardly a shout for doom... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1370139well I guess if taken in the context of an isolated incident, but with everything else seemingly washing away in North America at present, not so much. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1386401 Canada 05/16/2011 06:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It happened twice in the same general time frame within 100km of where I live. I am a freemason, and a higher up brother runs the track repair crew. His guys were the ones to clean it up. they lost 3 locomotives to the second one because nobody was there to watch it erode. |

(OP) User ID: 229501 Canada 05/16/2011 06:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | its neat... but what does this have to do with 2012?? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1386142i mean... how do you guys think caves are formed? water exists underground.. underground streams and rivers are everywhere...... if they get too much water from a mountain or lake or whatever... the underground stream overflows... how? how else?.. by going ABOVE ground. you can always tell people who didnt grow up surrounded by nature... they always act so freaked out by it.. its like that old cliche of the kid on his first camping trip being freaked out by an owl hooting... I bagged my first ten point Buck at age 14, I know nature!, but I've never seen a railbed disappear weird I guess |

That is good to know you can feel it, though. I wonder what it feels like. Maybe the ground feels soft? IDK... The ground looked so unreal when it started to liquify, or whatever it was doing. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1234074I just watched it again for like the fourth time, I'm a slow learner, and it seems their must have been a drainage pipe underneath somewhere, but the water pooled all around it and got to undermining the whole structure, also did you notice how fast the crew on the other side moved the rail repair rig back?...wow! |
