Dipshit, the point isn't that the Court (a Judge) said the govt can't get away with lying under oath and then admitting it in his specific courtroom,

the point is the US GOVT ARGUED ITS AGENTS CAN LIE UNDER OATH AT WILL!!!!

As long as the majority of people continue to believe that the best idea is to create a ruling class who are exempt from the rules they create for the rest of society, these are the types of results one should expect.

When anyone wants to gain at the expense of others, all one has to do is go to the ruling class who are already exempt from the rules and gain their favors.

This is the 'hole in the boat', 'the weakest link in the chain' through which the corruption flows.

Once you establish a group of people who are exempt from the rules, you've already created the corruption - the source of imminent failure.

This is the root problem shared by state-capitalism, state-socialism, and state-communism and why the aforementioned will continue to fail no matter how many times (and in how many different forms) they are attempted.

Have you ever been to court...DipShit? That's what you do is argue your point, but in the end the Court decides who is right and interprets the law. Show me the link with the Court's final ruling on this matter and then we can throw a couple of stones at the greedy ignorant Attorneys who are representing the US Gov't in this matter. Who cares what stupid argument some Attorney makes in his attempt to sway the courts opinion regarding the Gov'ts right to Lie under oath. There are no words to convey the depth of feeling I experience when I come across posts such as those above.

I too cannot, for the life of me, even begin too wrap my mind around how utterly, inexcusably and incredibly STUPID the vast majority of human beings (especially Americans) can possibly be.

This inability to "see" beyond anything presented by officially recognized and approved figureheads or powers that be is simply astounding to me.

When watching almost ANYTHING on the television, from commercials to political debates to MSM news I find myself astounded asking "Is somebody really going to patronize this product or service simply because of the 'fine quality and friendly service' that the perfectly coiffured, well dressed, overly smiling gentlemen is offering?"

Is somebody REALLY going to vote for this man because of his words? It's a sad fact that people vote in accordance to race, monetary status, looks and appearance and ability to communicate.

During the first Republican Primary debate a few weeks ago, with the RARE EXCEPTION of Rep. Ron Paul I almost had to regurgitate whenever I listened to (and had to watch) Tim Pawlenty & Rick Santorum. It was like watching an evangelical Ken doll at a revival meeting. These people were so "plastic" that I didn't even want to open the wrapper. From the choreographed hand gestures to rehearsed smiles so fake and phony that they put Wink Martindale to shame and sucking up to the South Carolinians to the point that I was surprised that they didn't go out into the audience and start kissing babies, I almost couldn't stomach it.

HOW CAN PEOPLE WHO HAVE LIVED ON THIS PLANET FOR MORE THAN 18 - 20 YEARS STILL BE STUPID ENOUGH TO BELIEVE ANY OF THIS CRAP?????? IT'S ASTOUNDING TO ME !!!

I'd rather hear one word of truth from a person who stammers and stutters than to hear a complete monologue of lies from a person who can wax eloquently and bring a crowd to laughter or tears.

Truth delivered in a disfigured box is still Truth. It is a sad fact however, that the majority of informed and so-called politically knowledgeable individuals will never recognize it, as they do not have the ability to see past the container. This is like throwing away a priceless 5 carat diamond simply because it was delivered in rumpled paper bag.

On more occasions than I'd care to admit I find myself musing philosophically about the root of such inane stupidity. I continue to ask myself "Is it that they CAN'T see or is it that they WON'T see? To which I can only come up with the cryptic reply "They CAN'T see because because they WON'T see."

Perhaps God will explain that to me on a more comprehensible level some day soon but until then I'm stumped.

The whole purpose of haveing a court in the first place is to find the truth of the matter.

If you have the right to lie with no penalty what so ever, then you are simply NOT UNDER the jurisdiction of the court or the rule of law.

But doesn't that work both ways? Why would the testimony of a licienced liar carry an ounce of weight?

The governments' position here is ludicrous.

To bring it to its' logical/illogical conclusion how would the Judge know if they really wanted him to rule in their favor? Maybe they were just joking when they made the request.

Court isn't about truth. Court is about the veneer of justice and fairness covering the social control beneath.
