Anonymous Coward User ID: 1394866 United States 05/23/2011 01:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1394866well no, He did not say ignore those laws and the time ahead were more of a concern. what He actually said was, Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. the Law was given to Israel for one reason only, to show them they could never be "good enough" to earn salvation or God's favor. only the High Priest was allowed in the Holy of Holies and only AFTER there was a sacrifice for his sin. if he went into the Holy of Holies and had no blood sacrifice had been done for his sin, he dropped dead. read Lev, it tells about how a rope was tied around the priest, what had to be done to cover his sin, the bells on his robe. when the bells stopped ring, that meant he was dead and had to be dragged out. also, the Law was NEVER given to the Gentiles, only to Israel. Christ was sent to save ISRAEL and when they rejected Him, the Gospel then went to the Gentiles and they were grafted in, remember? God also told them if they were guilty of breaking one Law, they were guilty of breaking all Laws. no man could live up to those Laws, it was impossible. sacrifices were common place for Israel, their sin had to be covered and God told them without the shedding of blood, there was no forgiveness of sin. Christ was the final sacrifice and he was the fulfillment of the Law, Christ was the "new Law" plain and simple. Christ came to fulfill that Law that God gave to Israel no, personally i do not believe in abortion for any reason. i feel God is in control and i feel that if i were to get pregnant by rape, it's for a reason. scientifically, very few pregnancies occur with rape and i trust that God is in charge and control. being a Christian does not mean we are immune to the things of this world, bad things happen to Christians just like everyone else. it is the cost of sin in the world. You said "what He actually said was, Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill." That's funny because He also said "I did not come to bring peace, but to divide with a sword" Sweetheart, your salt has much flavor, and I like that. Do you understand what it means to be salt upon the earth? My sword has not run out of salt just yet. I respect you because of your belief, however, I find myself stuck between an admitted sinner and a Blackwater crusader. I believe in peace and love. I also believe in the right to irritate people who are lost. Salt irritates an open wound the Bible also says to stone your disrespectful children, it says for women not to cut their hair, etc. He also said: Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. you believe in the right to irritate the lost? He said: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. and: And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." does that sound like we are supposed to "irritate" and turn people away? and He also said this: Woe to the world because of its stumbling blocks! For it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to that man through whom the stumbling block comes! and But take care that this liberty of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak. so, are you going to cherry pick your Scriptures or take it as a WHOLE? I take it as a whole for sure. I have read the Bible twice and some books more than five times. Peace and love sister. I could counter-quote you if I wanted to, but I don't want to right now. I'd rather pick on low-life scum who believe that abortion is ok because of their willful ignorance. Goodnight. Pray for me please it is a lifetime of study. :) there is no "counter-quoting" to do. what did Paul do in the same circumstance? did he "pick" on them and "irritate" them? no. But when they opposed and insulted him, Paul shook the dust from his clothes and said, "Your blood is upon your own heads--I am innocent. From now on I will go preach to the Gentiles." stop using Scripture as your weapon for a bit and try using it as your roadmap. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1394866 United States 05/23/2011 01:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have one question for you. Do you believe abortion is ok? In any situation including rape. Since this is an open forum, I'll take the liberty of stating my position on this question. 18 years ago I would have responded with an empathic "NO!!" Today, my position is quite different. I have learned the spirit/soul does NOT enter the physical body till just before the fetus is born. When you stop to think about it, why would a spirit/soul even want to reside in a fetus for 9 long months? Therefore, an abortion in the first few months only destroys the EMPTY vessel and NOT something divine. And besides, even IF the vessel already holds a spirit/soul, it can NEVER be destroyed!! The spirit/soul is both immortal and eternal. i would say life begins AT conception. the heartbeat can be detected and heard at 14 days after conception, so i don't buy that life begins after the heartbeat. In the mothers womb, the baby is developing and dependent on the mothers system...Yes, the life of the body begins at conception, but independent life does not begin until the cord is cut, and the spirit stream envelops the body... This is shamanic teachings - I know it is counter to religious teachings - but, as we have already discussed - to each their own!! no i was speaking of medically ;) |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1394866remember, everyone answers for their actions one day. i know how hard it is, i went through an attack by someone that later became a Christian and he asked my forgiveness, i refused it. he was killed a few years later, very quickly, no pain, never knew what hit him. i was mad for a long time, i wanted him to suffer and that was my selfish part, though his suffering wouldn't have changed the hurt and pain he caused me. i later realized that having such bad feelings toward him only hurt me and not him and stood in my way. i also realized in God's eyes i was no different than him before i came to Christ. that doesn't mean what your wife has done is right or ok, don't mistake that. it just means don't let your anger toward her affect you, she's not worth it. you actually need to pray for her and you probably can't and you probably know you need to pray for her lol. something my mother taught me was when there was someone i really needed to pray for but did really want to, that i should pray that God would give me the desire to pray for them. that has always worked for me. I have learned that the most difficult part of suffering is living with our own mistakes. Thank you for your insight. You are strong. yes very hard thing to learn, especially if you come to Christ after some really bad mistakes. what you did doesn't change and there are still consequences to our actions. such is life, Paul struggled with what he did before he came to Christ, he talked about it in some of his letters. it haunted him. |

My thoughts haunt me as well. I really try to do my best, but the reaction from the pain I witness wont leave me alone. 36 years of tears and thinkin' back, I'm the finished product of the making of a maniac. |

I really try to do my best, but the reaction from the pain I witness wont leave me alone. and your reaction might not be wrong, it just might need to be harnessed. people feel different ways to different things because people are different parts of the Body. there are things that will affect you differently than they will affect me or someone else. i would suggest spending some time in prayer and study about it. look up some scriptures concerning it. the Blue Letter Bible online is great for searching out specific words. [link to www.blueletterbible.org] search some words that best describe what you fell or are going through, in various translations and find your answers in Scripture. you will find peace and answers there. also there is a book i was given years ago, that just has some Scriptures compiled by different ways. when you are feeling down, need peace, lost a loved one, etc. it's called "God's Promises" and several different ones are made now. just doing a quick search on google, i just found this, it is like a mini-version of the book. this might get you started.
