It appears to be a tight race right now. Black people matter. Trump is trying to get the black vote. He knows he can serve them better too.

It is unclear where Obama was born. His Birth certificate had to be surrendered in Malasia, because there is no dual citizenship there. Therefore a copy was produced because Hawaii did not have a copy.

What bother me is that Obama has always said up until he became a senator, that he was born in Kenya. He was not raised in the continental US, and didn't settle in Hawaii, until he was 12 years old. It is even assumed because he always told everyone else he was Kenya, that he went to fancy colleges on falsifications on his application, and on grants and schalorships intended for actual foreign students. He is a liar pure and simple, and there is nothing anyone can do to change the narrative sold to so many.

So actually Trump is doing the next best thing. He is picking his battles for the more important issues that can be changed. After he is in office, then he can do something with this issue, if he really cares to pursue the issue any further.
