Anonymous Coward User ID: 297520 United States 05/26/2011 03:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wow. Hurricanes suck up whats on the ground and spit it back out way up in the atmosphere where it then falls back down over miles and miles. If that thing wanders over the power planet that already has roofless nuclear fuel pools this could get nasty. Quoting: ResisterAgreed - how many radioactive particles go up and where they drop out will be a critical factor. I'm not an expert but it seems that a large amount has the potential to be picked up and sent around the globe. If the fallout occours over cropland, I wonder if it would be enough to render the soil useless and kill any existing plant life. This would lead to a global food shortage. And DOOM. |

I know we will all sleep much more soundly at night knowing in our heart of hearts that the shrimp in question did in fact survive it's ordeal on the treadmill in honor of the myriad beneficial scientific hurdles it's sacrifice in our regard has assurred. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1312941 United States 05/26/2011 05:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Heavy Rain...Could that spread the radiation plumes in the clouds through rainwater? Or would that be if the rain is yellow or black? I strongly think that most people in Japan should be evacuated, to say China or somewhere out of the radiation and what is coming now. This typhoon is swirling wind, so only wonder the effects on radiation, I mean how it will interact. Who knows, maybe the strong force allows the typhoon to act like a vacuum and suck bad elements out of the atmosphere or to a higher level of earth to be dealt with naturally... |

Quoting: RTS<snip> A further curve to the northeast is likely later this weekend into next week, along with additional weakening. Regardless of the exact track of the typhoon, heavy rain is a certainty. There is a possibility that Songda will continue north and bring heavy rain to southern Japan over the weekend, with the possibility of rain lingering into early next week, including the area decimated by the tsunami and radiation release from a nuclear plant. Okinawa is an island. dont they have bridges? Don't they have maps where you live?! Okinawa is aprx 400 miles south of the main parts of Japan. maybe he can get a flight out. smh...gotta love how people just assume that every island has a bridge. Pretty sure the longest bridge in the world is only on the order of 30 miles long...that would still leave me about 370 miles short! And believe me, I'm from New Orleans and most of the people I know get outta dodge for a 3 yet alone a storm that is gusting 40mph OVER what is needed for Cat 5. Unfortunately, I'm military which is why I'm on this island in the first place and have been left in charge of the gaggle of people and equipment that weren't able to evac yesterday. So it looks like I just have to keep a stiff upper lip and man my post. It will be coming ashore 19 miles away now according to the latest forecast in about 29 hours. Maybe I shouldn't have pissed off so many people at work. Is it a conspiracy that the conspiracy nut guy has been left to fend for himself? You only hear about SpecOps when they go wrong. |
