(WOOD) - The National Weather Service confirms an EF-1 rated tornado hit Coldwater late Sunday afternoon. Winds topped out around 90 miles per hour in the Branch County city. The tornado began near the area of U.S. 12 and I-69. The significant damage was to the roof of a storage building in the 300 block of S. Michigan Avenue, and to the roof of a nearby home. The tornado continued east across I-69 where substantial tree damaged occurred and a garage door was blown off.
