Woman swept over falls

Niagara Regional Police and Niagara Parks police are looking into an incident that saw a woman swept over the Horseshoe Falls Tuesday afternoon. Police said they received reports, around 4:30 p.m., that tourists had spotted a woman in the rapids above the Falls in the area of Dufferin Islands. A short time later, the woman was observed by numerous tourists going over the Horseshoe Falls. The woman’s body was later recovered from the lower river. The identity of the woman has not yet been determined.
