(OP) User ID: 1417925 United States 06/25/2011 08:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Jack is an awesome cat. He was thrown from a moving car into my yard in January of 2010. I found him and fed him and gave him fresh water every day since then. Quoting: Meow...He is friendly without being needy and, after he eats,he never fails to say 'thank you' by coming back and rubbing against my leg. He is neutered but has his claws and is an amazing mouser! I am moving out of Florida soon and cannot take Jack. I already have 5 cats,2 dogs,4 fish and a ferret. Jack is good inside as well as outside. He comes in when the weather is really bad but never jumps on furniture or cupboards...only the bed, where he is allowed. He prefers being outside. I am so afraid that I will not find him a home before I have to leave South Florida. He has been a good buddy and deserves a home. How can I live with myself if I leave him here alone when I move????? You cant. I couldnt either. I would take him if I wasn't homeless atm. Had to leave my baby at my grandmas until I get a place. Try a cat society or someplace they don't euthanize maybe as a last resort? He sounds really cool too. Mine was @ a wk old when a friend found him abandoned in a dumpster, he had pneumonia real bad. I nursed him back to health, he is 13 now. I've tried all the 'No Kill' shelters here. They are all at least 100 cats behind. I cannot bear to have him killed, that's why I am HERE because I know many GLP'ers are from South Florida and may know someone with a barn or a nursery where a great cat would be welcome. Wait what? S.Fla? My dad is in Sebastian and he NEEDS a pet because he is going through a bad divorce, she kept their Jack Russell and he's heartbroken. He would be a little "meh" @ a cat but he would warm up to him just fine! OKAY! Might be the right thing for BOTH of them! Like I said,Jack is friendly but not 'needy'. He's such a good boy and I know he would be sooooooooo grateful to anyone who was kind to him. These animals never forget. The evil that men do lives after them. 'A Republic,if you can keep it.' |

It was nice for you to care for him. Quoting: orbThank you. I cannot help but love such an awesome cat. Just got a call from a lady in Wellington,FL. I posted on CL for a family with a barn....Hope this works out for Jack. The evil that men do lives after them. 'A Republic,if you can keep it.' |

Most cat adoptions cost $150 and you need to be screend and fill out forms and all kinds of nonsense. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1292002If you say that you will give him to a good home, nice person, lonely person, whatever, I am sure someone will come running. Say how good he is and that he needs a home. If you send him to the shelter, they often kill the cats to make room. It is too bad you can't keep him. You sound like you get along good with him. (OP) User ID: 1417925 United States 06/25/2011 10:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | honestly if you could somehow get him to me in the Dallas area of Texas I would take him. I have one cat and my family has two more but we have a doggy door so they all hang out in our back yard when the sun is just right or the birds are looking delicious. ;D I have never actually "bought" a cat or dog because I feel like if i am to take on the responsibility as a pet owner i should take in the ones that NEED homes. if you have a way to get him to me safely in TX, I would be glad to take care of him for you :) otherwise, I truely hope you are able to find a home for him, he sounds like a wonderful kitty Quoting: RoxyBurnYou guys are all making me cry... I know that a few souls on the earth are drawn more to cats (or to dogs,etc..) but I am a cat woman and I know that Jack deserves a home,no matter what you think. YOU don''t matter...JACK DOES !!!! Make sure you know why they want the cat and meet them. Don't just give it to some guy in a rush. Make sure they like the cat and have the supplies and a plan to take care of it. Arrange for them to let you see it again or to have pictures of him sent in a month or so to show him in his new home. |
