Happening Now: Detroit Sky RED

im in Michigan i seen it to whem i was driving. A wise person once told me, pink skys at night sailors delight, pink skys in morning sailors take warning.

A bit west here we had a sky that made everything look peach colored. It was an unusual baby blue at the northern horizon, then a wide strip of orange above it, then a strip of pink above that, then another strip of a different blue. It was like a giant rainbow covering the whole sky!

No storms in the area.

it wasn't just red though. it started out greenish yellow, then changed shades to yellow, then orange, and then to red.

it was one of the strangest skies i've ever witnessed.

Totally YES! Detroit was in Ambervision...like those bad UVblocking sunglasses from the 80's.

Bizarre Golden glow spilling in through the windows. That alone was freaky, and I posted on facebook about it, and by the time I was done, the Red came.

In a way, the Amber was almost freakier than the red.

Yes! That's what caused me to take a look outside--the color spilling through the window. I mean, it was definitely a noticeable, unusual hue for all of us to be in awe of it.

Not only red, I witnessed orange, yellow, and purple. Oddly, I never saw the green hue that normally accompanies foul weather. Maybe I missed it.

Im just a bit north of metro airport. Strange skies indeed.

And like in the video, everything was taking on the skies color. It was surreal inside my vehicle.

I saw a guy outside snapping pics, he was in front of a local bar. Probably a fellow glper lol!!

Water in the upper atmosphere creating what is known as a tropical sunset. The problem being Detroit is a fair distance from the tropics and cold air sliding underneath from Canada could create a deluge of rain.

I was just reading this and didnt think much of it until somebody mentioned that they "went to look at the sun because of the weird golden glow comming in the window". I did exactly that a couple hours ago. Looked out, sky was kinda a weird colour but figured that was normal and that was that.....till now....creepy....

I've seen the yellow tinted skies before, but never anything red like that! The 'red sky at night" rhyme refers to sunrises and sunsets folks, not with storms developing overhead. It's an indicator of what's to come in the morning or later that day.
