Glad each eruption is farther north and east everytime. Going to fuck up a whole lot of Canada in the next eruption.

Yellowstone has been "deflating" for the last 6 months to a year. However, only time will tell how far it recedes, in the past decades the normal rise and fall of the volcano have changed, instead of deflating to the prior level it seems to only deflate partially and this may well be the case this time.
Meaning...that even with deflation over the decades the caldera has been steadily rising though a little at a time.
Does this mean an eruption is near? Probably not anytime soon, but then again super volcano's eruptive habits have not been documented in recent history so hard to tell.
Increase in earthquakes, geysers stopping or increasing in frequency, ground and water temperature rises, increase in volcanic gases being released and ground deformation, all these things play a role, but how big a role we do not know as of yet.
She will erupt but we don't know when or how big.
