Could the Fed Rescue US From the Debt Ceiling?
The Federal Reserve maybe able to fund the U.S. government if no deal to raise the debt ceiling is reached.

The Fed currently owns about $1.63 trillion of Treasurys. It can sell these through its open market operations . All Fed income that exceeds the Fed’s costs are remitted to the U.S. Treasury Department. Which means that the revenues from selling Treasurys could be used to fund government operations instead of borrowing.

Sales of Treasurys by the Fed would not violate the debt ceiling laws, because the debt has already been issued. It is already counted against the debt ceiling.

A Short History of US Credit Defaults

What Will Happen in August of 2011?

Many people are wondering about the possibility of a default by the Treasury on August 3, 2011, when, according to the Treasury's projections, it will no longer be able to meet all expenses without additional borrowing.

In this event, it is unlikely a default will occur. Historically, governments prioritize debt service above all other expenses. If the expansion of funds via debt becomes impossible, the Treasury will cease paying other expenses first, starting with "nonessential" discretionary expenditures, and then move on to mandatory expenditures and entitlements as a last resort.

In extremis, what will happen is that all the losses will be foisted onto the Federal Reserve. The Fed holds something on the order of $1.6 trillion in debt issued by the Treasury of the United States. By having the Federal Reserve purchase blocks of Treasury debt and defaulting on these non-investor-held securities, the United States can postpone a default against real investors essentially forever.

I'm sorry, but the Fed will do no such thing. The Fed is the reason that we are in the predicament we're in and why nearly 1/3 of all income goes to service the debt to THE FED!

The Fed needs to go....period!

When you read the words "Fed" and "Rescue" in the same sentence you have GOT to know it's a bad thing.

Yes!

Just to be perfectly clear here, I don't completely agree with the Zarlenga model. My personal preference is for a decentralized mutual credit model.

However, Zarlenga's model is pretty well detailed out while my proposal is still rather nebulous...

That is why I recommend everyone to study what Zarlenga is speaking and writing about.

At the very least some serious discussion of liquidating the federal reserve needs airing.

Different models for money discussed:

Thread: Get rid of the money system, then get rid of goverrments

Link redundant and conceptually dense material.

I know. Just planting seeds for people who don't understand how it works. This will be more helpful:
(I don't expect it to happen either, but it might once everybody knows.)

I've been posting this one a lot, so sorry to everybody who keeps bumping into it, but EVERYBODY should see this, especially those who think GOLD money is a good idea. Since the tide is turning that direction.

Gold is great for preppers. Not a great idea for a national debt-free currency. We need debt-free currency, but not Gold.

Re: Could the Fed Rescue US From the Debt Ceiling?
This must not be least we be One Nation Under God no longer. Perhaps, we already are no longer one nation under God. Perhaps it was always supposed to end this way for The United States.

1. Not defending borders any longer.

2. Complete bankruptcy.

3. Loss of manufacturing capability that built this land.

4. Taken over from within by corrupt men.

Too sad, but God's Will must prevail. Only those who will submit to the Will of God have any hope of Freedom and Living without Tyranny.

Today, so many of you curse The God of the Universe, even here on this forum in ways that are so hideous that it must bring judgment upon this nation.

When America Compromised Devotion to God for Devotion to Money, this end was assured.

Even so, Lord Jesus, I Await Your Return.
