To answer your question for others;

That one man Adam fell to death the one man Christ rose from death.

The old covenant was full of sacrifice of animals for the forgiveness of sin, the Jews could not keep the covenant internally or in their heart.

The New Covenant is in the belief of that one that was killed for telling the Truth..Jesus Christ, his one death was a last sacrifice for all, and if one believes he is God's Son and he rose from the dead, eternal life is the result.

You really lost me there. I don't understand how the death or rising of individuals changes the rules of the after life. At that point it just seems like God changes his mind at will and people being sacrificed becomes pointless.

Why are you asking lowly me ask God, why did mankind decide to mate with non-humans? It pissed God off.....that is the knowledge of Good and Evil.....mixing our DNA with that of another forbidden DNA, thus we fell from the Tree of Life!

heres a wacked idea for you, that makes total sense to me:

God did not require Jesus to die on the cross. The people required it. They did not feel worthy of talking to God, or worshipping him etc, which is why the did a lot of sacrificing etc. Jesus was like teh ultimate sacrifice. Someone else worded it a lot better on here, it was here i heard the idea originally.

Actually, even if the biblical story is accurate, the Roman's crucified him because they saw him as someone usurping their authority. I really doubt they gave a crap about his teachings.

Re: How did Jesus' death wash away our sins?
OP, Jesus was/is the only Son of God. God loves us all. God sacrificed his only Son ( who never sinned) who loved his Father and us enough to sacrife HIs Son ( in place of sacrificial Lamb). Jesus loved us enough to go through with this. By his Blood being shed ( remember the Jews of the old testament had to sacrifice a Lamb or bull/cow to have their sins forgiven) Our sins have been forgiven as long as we confess them to God/Jesus as long as we have Faith and believe in Jesus. I hope that helps you. It took me awhile to realise how Jesus' death forgave us too !

Re: How did Jesus' death wash away our sins?
I am actually being sincere here. I was raised in a Southern Babtist home and have read the bible a fair share of times, but I am at a total loss when it comes to understanding how Jesus dying on the cross translates into me being forgiven for my "sins".

And please don't just post scripture that just states it matter-of-factly as if I should ignore that we live in a world where things have to correlate.

So they torture him, place him on a cross, and then wait for him to die. He passes away, is reborn and then ascends to heaven. Now I get forgiven if I have impatient thoughts? How does that work? Did he die, go to heaven and flip on a breaker switch, resurrect on earth to check if it worked and then just strolled on back to heaven? What happened during his death that made our sins forgivable?

It's like a father bursting through the door and telling his son that cursing is now allowed in the house because he hit a deer on the way home. How in the world is it connected?
 Quoting: Scrodiddles

Well, you know how one can be a better judge of things if thye experience things themselves? It's like that. Jesus, a man who basically is God, can closely "appreciate" the human condition and idiosyncrasies and identify them well enough so that he can remove them. He's more surgeon than judge, cutting away the guilt and shame each person has repressed, hidden and denied over the years to become hypocrites. But as he cuts away it's often thought of like washing away, and this is done on judgement day, so he's not thought of as a surgeon. But, being that he was once a human being makes him better able to spot and cut out what people ignore.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1485376

See, now this answer is the closest thing to rational I have heard yet. The idea that he came here to basically understand our condition actually sits better in a realm of spiritual logic then the "His blood is your gateway" ideology. But, the last part of your statement lends to the idea that Jesus was training to become the ultimate judge of our sins. I have read the bible enough to know that he made absolutely no indication that he was here for that.
I am in search of Truth, but still emptying my cup.

Re: How did Jesus' death wash away our sins?
"Jesus" wasn't killed. Nor did he die for "our sins", because he ascended. Which is why he came in the first place; to teach ascension. (He + 12 magi) His ascension made it into the Bible, surprisingly; three days after his "murder". Except he didn't die...

The people that put the Bible together twisted the history of "Jesus" (Jeshua-12), the anti-Kryst (Jeshua-9), and one of their students (Arahabi). These stories were condensed into one person... It was the student who was killed.

Jeshua-12 taught ascension. He succeeded, but had to leave. It was Jeshua-9; who we get the "rumors" about the Holy Grail: descendants. It was 9 who married "Mary Magdalene". She was suppose to be 12's wife, but she was tampered with (genetically) by the FAs (fallen angels).

It's convenient for the ruling elite to twist these Biblical stories - making us think we're sinners to begin with - so they can harness control over us, and make us go to church, pay tithes, and be obedient to the government.

The real history is being brought back to the planet for the first time in over 13,000 years. Since 2000, this planet has successfully been able to anchor Krystos frequency. So in essence "Jesus" already came back. But the ruling would have the sheep "expecting to see the man in the clouds".

Secret space technology can manifest these visions through holographic technology, but these plans have yet to be given the GO.

I can't say more...

Re: How did Jesus' death wash away our sins?
This is the doctrine of Substitutionary Atonement. In the Old Testament, it was commanded by God that the people sacrifice a perfect lamb so theirs sins would be covered by its innocent blood. Christ came to us in place of the lamb to give His blood as the ultimate sacrifice of the shedding of innocent blood, whoever believed upon his name and accepted His sacrifice, would have their sins forgiven.God was merciful in sending His Son as the payment for our sins, because justice demands that restitution be made for the breaking of the Law.God is perfect so there must be perfect justice, but also perfect mercy. There can never be another blood sacrifice because that would be blasphemy,Christ paid the ultimate price.

I never did see how a lifetime of many small sins (tell a lie, think bad thoughts, greed, lust, etc) equate to the punishment of a lifetime in hell. It doesn't make sense therefore I don't believe it. Seek and ye shall find. I seek the truth.

Re: How did Jesus' death wash away our sins?
The ONLY way it washes away your sins is if you follow his path. Just because he dies DOES NOT MEAN you are forgiven unless you are humble as he and are truly sorry for offense made.

I am so very happy that you brought this up tonight because it has been weighing on my mind heavy lately. He was here only to show us the path to his father, our father and creator. The creation that lives in each and every one of us, evermore.

He was here to teach each of us humility, conviction and compassion. Too many Christians call themselves "Christians" , yet they lack one or more of the three things taught by Him, from the way/path he lived his life.

I would regard myself as more spiritual than religious and my experience has lead me to believe something more along the lines of what you wrote than anything else. I believe that we are each capable of what Jesus did: "All these things that I do, you will do and more".

So, it seems that what Jesus taught was spot on. It just appears that the religion and idea of "God's only son" is where the madness begins.
 Quoting: Scrodiddles

I'm glad to hear you understand what I've said. I had a strong urge, unlike usual, to respond to your thread.

That line you quoted Jesus saying still surprises me, in that it made it into the Bible.

He did say that. Cause he came to teach just that: ascension. Ascension involves activating your DNA to his level (12dimensional potential, hence Jeshua-12)... With this amount of frequency coming into you, you can do a lot of things. Like levitate, "walk on water", walk through walls, disappear and reappear (merkaba), etc.

It's religion that has deliberately tampered with the teachings. Like you say, the madness comes from this. "Why" do think the "Vatican" has a secret library, deep in the catacombs...?

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1314440

Yes, I understand that the Roman's killed him for their own reasons but, for the sake of a balanced argument, Jesus very well could have known the right moves to make in that sort of society to get himself killed. And, if you have read the Gospel of Judas, it definitely seems as if Judas willingly played a role in all of it to ensure that the plan Jesus had for his sacrifice was carried out. People condemn Judas, but without him you would never have the crucifixion.

Re: How did Jesus' death wash away our sins?
God is both righteous and He is just. We all have sin, which requires justice (in the same way that heinous crimes have a consequence and punishment...a judge in court would not be serving justice if he were not to sentence a crime that was committed...justice would not be served, and he would be a corrupt and immoral judge). God is not unjust or immoral. God is Just. BUT God is also righteous and loving, so the payment of sin, which is death, was taken by Christ. Christ received death not just physically, but spiritually. In the moment that Christ was on the Cross, the spiritual wrath of God was placed on Christ. He experienced the agony of God's wrath for the sins committed by man.

God Himself took the punishment that is required for justice to be served, while simultaneously committing the most loving and self-sacrificial act imaginable. Christ lived a perfect and sinless life, what we are incapable of doing, and was completely blameless...and yet had the sins of man imputed upon Him, while His righteous was imputed on us. The balance was then paid. Once imputed with His righteousness, we are now seen as blameless before God. His sinlessness, through His act of atonement, was transferred to us, it is credited to our account because the payment was made for justice to be served.

This does not give us a license to sin, or to continue doing what we are doing scott-free....once you realize the magnitude of the act performed on our behalf, you will no longer want to sin, and will respond with praise and gratitude at the realization of your redemption, and how undeserving you are of it...and how merciful and sacrificial it was for Him to pay the price for you when He didn't have to, for no other reason than out of love for His own children. Many parents would take a sacrifice for their children...and what God did is infinitely greater. He took the punishment for all the sins of man.

Re: How did Jesus' death wash away our sins?
All of mankind is under sin because of their birth in Adam. Adam's corruption passed to all men, because Adam was the representative of all of mankind in God's eyes. This is known in Christianity as original sin.

The wages of sin is death, and therefore, since all have sinned and are under sin, they are under a death sentence.

God sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ into the world to live a perfect life in accordance with His law. Jesus carried out the task, as a man, of being perfectly obedient to all of God's laws.

God told Adam and Eve that if they never sinned, then they would never die. All men, including Adam have sinned, and therefore have died, or will die.

The man Jesus Christ (who was God in the flesh) NEVER sinned, therefore according to God's law He was not subject unto death. Yet He did die. He did not die for His own sins, because He had none, He died for the sins of His people.

The sins that Jesus died for have been paid in full by His death. God will not hold those who are in Jesus Christ accountable for their sin, because Jesus has legally paid the penalty for their sin.

If you are in Jesus Christ, your sin is no longer held to your account, because Jesus Christ bore the penalty of it, therefore the sin debt is paid and the sin is "washed away".

Re: How did Jesus' death wash away our sins?
God is a family of three.
God made everything.

Built into all existence is this rule: rebellion against God leads to death.

The first created man disobeyed God and all of creation became warped and tarnished.

All created human beings have rebelled many times over. Because of rebellion we are enemies with God.

The rule cannot be broken; "justice" must be served and the guilty must die.

Jesus is both God and man. (Both "parties" [offender and offended] are represented)

Christ was completely innocent, lived a perfect life pleasing to God (the Father)in every way and died in the place of the guilty. He took the punishment that the guilty deserved.

All who believe this are given the right to enter into God's family and share in everything that is his.

Because of what Christ has done: mercy (not getting what you deserve) and grace (getting so much more than you could possibly merit) are given.

Re: How did Jesus' death wash away our sins?
It is a human sacrifice that God required. That's about all I can come up with. Of course it makes no sense whatsoever, but then again, neither does that book.

God demanded that the Aztecs rip out people's hearts for sacrifice. He loves death and commands his followers to continue in this tradition. I do not like it, so I guess Jesus did not die for me.

I assure you, I know exactly what you are saying. I have heard the buzzwords more than I can count. I understand what happened according to the doctrine. But I don't understand how one begot the other. How does his death, in a real, logical explanation, actually cause God to forgive my sins? I hope you understand the question I am asking. I am trying to piece together exactly what happens at the moment of Jesus' death that just flips some spiritual switch in the world and now sins are actually things that you can get rid off.
I am in search of Truth, but still emptying my cup.

Re: How did Jesus' death wash away our sins?

Well and succinctly said. That covers it beautifully.

Re: How did Jesus' death wash away our sins?
heres a wacked idea for you, that makes total sense to me:

God did not require Jesus to die on the cross. The people required it. They did not feel worthy of talking to God, or worshipping him etc, which is why the did a lot of sacrificing etc. Jesus was like teh ultimate sacrifice. Someone else worded it a lot better on here, it was here i heard the idea originally.

Actually, even if the biblical story is accurate, the Roman's crucified him because they saw him as someone usurping their authority. I really doubt they gave a crap about his teachings.

People condemn Judas, but without him you would never have the crucifixion.

what an interesting point. Never thought of it that way before. Still lady gagas song is just weird.

Re: How did Jesus' death wash away our sins?
if Jesus' death was so important, what was the exact date he died on?

and why would he have to die to save his followers?
Wouldn't he die for everyone, since he's God?
or does God have favorites.

there's no logic in that (!)

What is sin? this can go on just about forever........

instead of trying to have a religious discussion,
use Your Wisdom and establish Your relationship with Our Creator and eliminate religion from Your Life.

Peace be with You; Love is the answer
We get the powers over us that we've earned collectively. Humanity, as a whole, is self-interested, shallow, ignorant, violent and immoral; small wonder, therefore, that our leaders (secret or otherwise) reflect that. You want better leaders, become better people.

I forgive myself, I Love myself, I'm sorry, Please forgive me, I forgive you, I love you, Thank you.

God Bless You;
I Bless You;
Bless Yourself(~).

Love is the answer ~ Peace be with You.

Re: How did Jesus' death wash away our sins?
First, I want to say... you need to be in a bible based church. The Southern Baptist church is a denominational church and was started by a freemason! Beware denominations, YES Satan is really that powerful.

His death was a purchase for the pardoning of our sins. The debt was paid to God like if you owed someone money. Jesus made sure mankind would be saved and given a chance to move forward. We are now under a new Covenant that Jesus gave us(The New Testament)

In the past, God would have flooded the earth like he did in Noahs day. But, this time it could have been FOREVER!

This shows you God is patient! He sent his son WHOM WAS TORTURED and went through things he didnt have to just so we could have a chance to prove ourselves and enter his Kingdom one day.

Jesus is the ultimate HERO!

Its sad how people just waste their lives on this earth after hearing how much Jesus Christ sacrificed.
