Projections in the skies late night over austin tx last nite

Ok so i want to know if there was anyone that has seen this or anything like it anywhere else so i have heard about the ideas and theories of hologram projections in the sky but i was kinda still skeptical on that whole front but then my friend told me how she could have sworn it looked like there was a tv in sky, so i thought that was curious cause she isnt one of the type of friends that is into anything about lookin at sky for ufos or conspiracy theories but she mentioned it to me cause i like that kind of stuff but then last night me and my girlfriend got back from a party and we decided to take a walk around our neighborhood it was about a quarter past 3am we live north of downtown austin and well he noticed this really heavy cloud cover just suddenly come in it was a blanket of real thick nasty clouds but these clouds i have noticed that wierd ones seem to reflect color of the ground sometimes but then what we observed on our walk for over an hour what looked like picture the calibration flashing whhen u turn on a projector it was really bright and i would change colors it started from blue to green yellow to white to predawn colors it was pretty wild we looked around to see if maybe there was a light from downtown that could be responsible for it but the area kept getting bigger and moving around we tried to record some vid footage but unfortunaly my gf phone couldnt record good enough quality then we saw something even stranger we got to a good vantage point of downtown which starting to be covered by a real wierd fog that when my gf noticed a copy of what looked like the ut tower appearing far off another part of the skyline put only like the top half was like semi visible almost like a mirage reminded me of that video of the mirage city in china then after a while the stopped and the and soon after the clouds moved away and well i know that solar flare happened but i think we are to far south for auroras so rules that out could it have been lights from downtown being reflected off the clouds i thought so at first but it seemed unlikely because it would flicker on and off in no particular pattern it would change color move area in the sky and the area would increase and decrease over time and then seeing that odd building appearing wtf man
so yeah guys any ideas has anyone seen anything like this in the skies recently would love to hear some feedback
