And the Trains all run through Modesto, it is a heavy 'trunk' line for Central Valley train lines.

The only reason why Modesto exists is due to trains. Its river is not large enough and deep enough to support cargo ships. It does have a few switching stations and used to be a train line when down the center of 9th street.

Military equipment bound for naval and air force 'ports' often go through Modesto.

We have a major line that runs North/South next to the 99, a two track line that runs East/West along Yosemite Blvd, then we have the Southwest/North East line, a line that runs From the Hershey Plant in Oakdale through the Canning district to Fresno and the Port of Stockton.

Stockton has the large river for shipping goods which travel down river to the San Francisco Bay.

We also have lines that run from the Modesto Area to Los Angeles and Southern California, and minor (side lines?) that run to junction downs in the foothills.

When I moved out here there used to be several other lines through Modesto when it was a major train junction.

But they're brand new... Which means they've been sitting in a depot, being maintained.

If they're not being shipped for use overseas then one should assume that there's a good reason they're being rolled out.

And if they're not being shipped for use overseas, one can only assume they're being transported for use in the USA.
