Remember nasas article of the perfect solar storm? they said that in the event we were pounded back to back durring which time the Magnetosphere was trying to recover? this is where its currently at. In recovery from the beating it took |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1491347 United States 08/06/2011 06:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | its been super wonky all day. boi oi oi oing. like a spring. pretty nuts. also read the 3rd CME may not even have hit yet... Quoting: LogicTrollI posted one place on that, not sure where, I think ELQ's thread of yesterday, but the neutrons took a HUGE dive which they sometimes do 24 hours or so BEFORE a big storm. so lets all watch and see if that happens or not. [link to www.bartol.udel.edu] this is a huge drop and it first got my attention on [link to solarimg.org] on the russian neutrons, so I checked the bartol ones. This is not common AFTER a storm this type of drop but this was an unusual storm anyway with the con commitant Proton flux here [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] that the 4th. when the m9.3 x ray flare. [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] Since I wasn't online watching this stuff during the last solar max, I have no idea if this is something completely different or not. There were in fact 3 years with NO proton flux. [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] and then one in 2010, and this will be the 4th this year. CME's that hit within 24 hours are awfully rare. I have never seen one, at least that I knew was coming. the literature does say in wiki or someplace 1 to 5 days. |
