They arent your adversary but you're brother/sister who are just lost.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1503462

Yes, you are correct; but I was referring to the Dark Brotherhood that works behind the scenes in that Church......NOT necessarily the members!

I too talked to mormons yesterday (ironically) but they were nice kids that just seemed brainwashed with what they were spreading. They said they believe Jesus's words but yet when they were asked what about Jesus saying there were no more prophets after John the Baptist and how Joseph Smith (the creator of the mormon church who was "shown to create this church by Moses, Elias, Jesus, God, Daniel etc.." This is what was said to me lol) could be a prophet they never answered me.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1503462

I would be interested in finding that piece of Scripture.......you wouldn't happen to have the reference would you?
 Quoting: ObeWayneKenobe

It looks like John was not the last prophet. Here is an interesting answer I found.

[link to answers.yahoo.com]

Is John the baptist the last prophet according to christianity:Christianity EXPOSED?
“For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.” (Matthew 11:13)

If the verse means what it says i.e. no other prophet shall arise after John the Baptist then such a position will contradict the following:

“And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.”(Matthew 21:11)

Jesus came after john the Baptist and is indeed a Prophet as confirmed by the above verse. If the verse is true then how can John the Baptist be regarded as the last prophet and no other shall come after him? Further more, we read of a test to determine a true prophet from a false one in 1 John. If there was no prophet to come how then can you have such a measurement or test which was given much later after both John and Jesus. Thus we read:

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize God’s Spirit: Every person who declares that Jesus Christ has come as a human has the Spirit that is from God. But every person who doesn’t declare that Jesus Christ has come as a human has a spirit that isn’t from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist that you have heard is coming. That spirit is already in the world.” (1 John 4:1-3)

No, they believe in the bible, "as far as its translated correctly".......there words not mine!
 Quoting: ObeWayneKenobe

So of course it is never translated correctly so they turn to the book of mormon instead. They add onto the Bible. That is why I don't believe they are Christian. They use another book entirely.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1505261

Well, they believe in a scripture that is in the bible that states: "take two sticks and write upon it.......and the two shall be one in thin hand"!

They think the 2 sticks are the bible and the book of Mormon..........rather than the OT & NT.

Thank you for posting that information!

However, as a test for a "true prophet", I think THAT is a terrible test! I mean even Satan KNOWS the Truth, and can confess that Jesus has come as a human! lol

No, I think a real test is if the Prophet garners followers or not: For a real prophet will always put himself out of business, by teaching his followers how to contact God in person.........and NOT need a go between!

Re: 3 Mormon missionaries rang my doorbell yesterday
I remember One of the young men saying to me: "Well, we can't know everything that God wants for us, because we aren't perfect"!

So I ask him: "Why not?"......"Didn't your God say to you in your Book of Mormon, "Be ye therefor perfect, even as your Heavenly Father and I, are perfect"?

I asked him: "If not now, then when?"......."Why do you put off your perfection, for some time down the road, in the future, instead of seeing it in the now?"

All three boys simply looked down, and shrugged their shoulders.......:(

I would think so, he was pretty young.........I wish I had brought that up to him, but I simply let them know that the term "Priesthood" got its start when the Priests would wear hooded cloaks to hide their identity! They were called "hooded priests"........then somewhere down the road, it got changed around to one word: "Priesthood"! :(

How do we get the schools to stop forcing atheism on the children?

How do we get the TV to stop pushing both atheism and claiming the Catholic Church is Christian?

This Mormon primary president is on trial in Los Angeles for abusing this boy with hot sauce.

Listen to the way she speaks to him.

I find it hard to believe that she doesn't understand that hot sauce isn't the only problem she has.

Her manner of speech indicates to me that she never adopt any children, especially not a male.

She is very arrogant.

I hope Russia doesn't get the idea that all Americans are going to treat adopted Russian kids like this.

Mormons shouldn't adopt period as this isn't the first Mormon bitch I have run into.

She probably doesn't see her arrogance as a form of abuse.

She's not an empath.

She's also probably very limited in her ability to see herself from the outside looking in.

She probably had parents very similar to her, so arrogance is the norm.

Even a man shouldn't need to use arrogance in a non-obstinate child.

Also, probably some passive-aggressive tendencies going on there, as she doesn't care how her size is going to be intimidating enough along with not smiling to cure the problem she is trying to address.

Her tones of voice are not necessary for a child of this age unless he is being obstinate, which he is not.

Since he is not being obstinate, arrogant tones of voice are not necessary.

She is a bitch. Like most Mormon women.

Oh yes we can.

Mormon beliefs are a threat to this countries moral fabric.

They lie. That's how they get converts.

Further, Mormon beliefs represent a threat to their own children's safety.

Look at Ed Smart. "I'm a Christian so my duty is to invite homeless men to my house without doing a background check so they can have their way with my daughter in the spirit of Christian love because Christ told us to clothe the poor, regardless of the fact that he might be homeless because of drug use and whoring and violating his baptismal covenants"

Children get damaged because of Mormon's view of Christian love extended to all without a background check. This was an educated man and the head of a successful family with a house high up on the hill in Salt Lake City.

If this is the best we can expect from Mormonism, then I say just ignore Mormons.

Second, I once dated a 20 year old when I was 29. Some Mormon. The branch presidents wife didn't approve so I got rid of her.

This woman didn't have a problem with Joseph Smith jr. misusing his ecclesiatical authority to manipulate Helen Mar Kimball into marriage, but she had a problem with a 29 year old dating a 20 year old.

Smith was 38 and she was 14.

All Mormons, even the educated ones are probably people you want to avoid along with most sectarian Christians.

About the only Christians worth their weight in gold are non-denominational Christians. Most American Christians are pretty weird, and the atheists are just as bad or worse.

I find it bizarre that she is confronting him about lying.

Hello! Macfly!

She is a Mormon. Lying is a way of life to achieve converts to Mormonism.

If they had told me the truth I never would have joined!

I had to find the truth about Mormonism on my own, in DIRECT violation of the authority of the Mormon priesthood.

You are not allowed to research material that puts Mormonism in an unfavorable light!

It doesn't matter if the material you are researching is more accurate than the lies that they spread.

All that matters is that you submit to their lies.

They should have nuclear hot sauce rain down on them.

I think most of these off shoot religions are created by sin.

People engage in sin. Then do a wide variety of crazy things.

Illuminati. If by that you mean human beings who have subjected themselves to the rule of Babylon through sin, and thereby demonic possession.

I don't think that Freemasons, other similar organizations or men design these false religions.

That's all the work of the beast and his minions. Humans are simply their clueless tools who have no idea they are pawns in Satan's game of designing all of these confusing religions and their varying doctrines from ONE book.

One book = one doctrine.

Most of the churches I have visited violate some fairly basic principles of scripture.

Baptists, Catholics, Mormons....

Wrong. The man of the house has the right to demand that their children follow their rules.

The man of the house is required to provide moral instruction on par with the Bible to his children. People can lose their lives because of failure to instruct people on proper sexual standards.

Hence, this is why people were executed in Old Testament times for failing to observe the Sabbath. Sabbath observance saves lives.

Once they have reached the age of 18 and have moved out of the house, their religion is their business, but until then their religion is their father's business.

Dad's house. Dad's rules. Freedom of religion doesn't exist to people under the age of 18 or those who live with their parents.
