Let me sum it up for you.
The only way to free yourself from the cycle of birth and death is to engage in devotional service to the supreme You do not become God. You engage in service to God who is your father. Because God is your father, he shares his kingdom with you and you reap the benefits. But at no point do you ever become God. It is not possible.
God is like a great big fire, and we are like individual sparks emitting from that fire. We are of the same quality of God, but minute. God is Eternal, Full of Knowledge, and Full of Bliss, but is unlimited.
We are limited, God is unlimited. There is a quantitative difference that cannot be rectified. We can never become God.
