Well the demi-gods are just like you and me, they are tiny spiritual sparks. They are not supreme all pervasive spiritual energy. You can even be elevated to become a demi-god if you so choose.
In the Vedas, the conception of Heaven is not the same as the conception of Heaven in Christianity and other abrahamic religions.
Heaven is a higher realm where the duration of life is very great, and you may meet many of your past relatives there if they have been elevated to heaven also. But Heaven is not the final destination. Heaven is still within the material world, albeit much more elevated and luxurious and tempting. At the end of this universe, the heavenly planets will be annihilated with the rest of the universe.
The Supreme Deity is the proprietor of everything, not just heaven. His abode is the Spiritual World which is outside of the material universes. The Spiritual World is Eternal, Full of Knowledge, and Full of Bliss. Once you obtain the Spiritual World, you never return to the material world which we currently inhabit.

This is the knowledge passed down from the supreme personality himself, to his disciples, and to their disciples, etc and so on in an unbroken chain of disciplic succession. The goal of disciplic succession is to accept the word of God and pass it down unmodified. Because if you receive knowledge from the perfect being and the knowledge is perfect, it does not need to be changed. The main tenet of devotional service is to maintain the efficacy of the original teachings. Thus they have been passed down to us in Sanskrit, and unmodified. Perhaps this is why it is said when "The Christ" Incarnates again and begins teaching everybody will be forced to cut off their own heads? I heard its a metaphor for everybody having to relearn everything they think they know about God. It still resonates with my Self that Heaven will be an Eternal Kingdom born of This Earth. What good is resonating with yourself? Your senses are imperfect. You cannot even see without the help of light. We are conditioned souls, and we are prone to four defects. 1) We commit mistakes 2) We are illusioned, we accept something for real which is not real 3) We cheat, we say something and then believe something else in our heart 4) We possess imperfect senses. We cannot see what is happening on the other side of a wall. I think the biggest clash you have is the wording, that you have a concept of Heaven and the wording of Heaven in the Vedas is different. But your concept of heaven is more akin to the Spiritual World, where everything is eternal, full of knowledge, and full of bliss. Yes it is possible that this world can be like the Spiritual World. If the Bhagavad-gita is true, are not having to relearn everything about God already?
