There isn't going to be an alien attack, they are trying to scare people, for when our space friends start landing to introduce themselves to us and to help spread the truth.

Incidentally, Bastiat's The Law should be on every person's reading list. It's not the most exciting book, and a lot of the examples are derived from the French Revolution, since that was Bastiat's contemporary examples, but it is beautifully written and constructed and lays out economics and the rule of law so clearly that I guarantee it will change the way you see the world.

I would love to see a Ron Paul/Krugman debate. Honestly, I would pay $50 on PPV to watch Paul destroy him.

Krugman is probably goin' long on tinfoil futures.

if everyone broke all the windows in their house the economy would grow and create prosperity due to the expansion of having to fix the windows.

It could be fun, I suppose, fighting the aliens like that.

I just keep expecting some kind of bad Jim Henson Muppet aliens coming out with faked up ray guns to demand all our cheese or something each time I hear this theory though.

If someone tries it I hope they actually take the time for a good job. Quality of work comes from perseverance and attention to detail!

Yeah, but when he speaks in the context of a Nobel Prize winning economist who presents an idea like this on an Internation news channel, he can't just say "ignore" what I said.

It's like those lawyers who raise a point in court, it gets sustained and "striken from the record". You know for sure that the jury has still heard the point and it will fester.

Just look at all the alien invasion films and shows lately. It's like we're being primed for something.

It's exactly like that...and I have to wonder what his motivation for saying it is? I didn't get the feeling that it was something that just tumbled out, and he used it claiming that it would help our Economy recover in 18 months. So it seems as if he has given it some thought.
