Live in Northern California ... no smell.

We have a semi-famous geyser ...Long Valley/Clear Lake Caldera area that goes off regularly (tourist attraction) [link to www.oldfaithfulgeyser.com] so called the office and they say there is no unusual activity.

Lived in LA for a long time and remember we'd get wierd smells from time to time during hot weather. The Montebello landfill almost always smelled like that. Maybe its urban landfill off-gassing or something.

Does anybody smell it in non-urban areas?
