For dense people not so much, you're right. But G-d will tell you things in your dream for sure, I have had happen in my life and so have others.

I think sometimes people in the past, thousands of years ago were so much smarter than we were now. They knew dreams and signs were so important, they took an intense dream seriously, and signs in the sky, and in the animals, like the Indians knowing when storms would come, etc.
