Message in source code is classic sign of an ARG, or some college student trying to start one. Rather skeptical of all this after the shit pulled by movie studios in promoting things like The Fourth Kind & 2012:

(NB Universal say they weren't sued, but all references to the scandal and criticism of the practice have since been removed from Wikipedia, there was a section about it on The Fourth Kind wiki this time last year - very dodgy)

2012's questionable marketing campaign:
