User ID: 1372469 United States 09/01/2011 01:20 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In the Book of Revelations, Chapter 8, Verse 8-11 seems to be describing two different events both of which affect the waters of the planet (both the sea and fresh water - although using different mechanisms to do so. First, please read the few verses yourself: 8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; 9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. 10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; 11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. It seems to me that these are two separate things happening. Not necessarily near each other in terms of time. They are presented here because they have a negative impact on the water of the entire planet. In Revelation 8:8 we are told that "the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood. If you're a student of biblical history, remember that the Book of Revelation was given to ST John as a dream or series of dreams or visions which he wrote down and which became the book of Revelation. John was living in the time of Christ and died shortly before The Savior was crucified. But imagine if you will, a man from 30 or 31 AD being shown a picture of a Volcano. A geological event that he had probably never seen before in reality. His choosing to describe this unknown but powerful and frightening event would make perfect sense to him in calling it a "GREAT MOUNTAIN BURNING WITH FIRE". And if this "Great Mountain Burning With Fire" were to fall or slide down into the sea, he would of course describe it as it "WAS CAST INTO THE SEA". While no one can know for certain what he saw in his dream or vision, it is logical to assume that a man with a frame of reference from that time, never having seen a Volcano in his life, would describe a volcano just as he did. And if it were to slide, or fall into the sea, it would surely appear that it was "cast there" by some force due to it's immense size and power. Not a thing that could be moved easily, as he could tell from it's size and immense heat. While there are other volcanos on the earth next to the sea - there are none that we know of now that could cause such world-wide devastation with a tsunami that would encompass the entire Atlantic basis from the tip of South Africa all the way up to Greenland and Iceland and Northern Europe and then cross the Atlantic and push huge waves up and inland along the entire eastern coast of the Canada, The US, Central America, and the entire coast of South America down to a few hundred miles from the Antarctic area. The outcome John tells us in Verse 8 and 9 is "a third part of the sea becomes blood". Whether it actually is turned into blood or there is an not-before-seen bloom of some type of sea creatures which turns the color of the sea water to red - no one knows. But Verse 9 makes it clear that 1/3rd of the creatures in the sea that were alive loose that life and die. Then more disturbingly, a third of all ships on the seas at this time are destroyed, too. How? I do not know. Maybe the same thing that turns the water red has the ability to destroy the hull of the ships? (Just a guess on my part, but hopefully one based on a bit of logic and a touch of scientific knowledge as well.) Revelation Chapter 8, vs 10 and 11 seem to describe a Separate Event, perhaps close in time, perhaps not (we do not know how much time will pass before each of these "trumpets" will be sounded by the various Angels) - but where verse 8 talks about "the second Angel" vs 10 clearly is telling us that this next event will be caused by the THIRD ANGEL sounding his/her trumpet. And this event seems to be more of a meteor or comet striking the earth. "A great star from Heaven" "burning as if it were a lamp" (probably refers to it's relative brightness or lack thereof.) and it falls upon a third of the rivers (in the world?) and the "fountains of waters". This could be a man-made group of Fountains, Dams, Waterfalls,or some naturally occurring geographic feature somewhere on earth. Even serious bible students do not agree on what this term "Fountains of Waters" means and most of them only guess at it. The end result is that it poisons a third of the Rivers and many men die from drinking the "wormwood-affected" waters. This results in a great loss of life to humankind. Could this Burning Mountain somehow bring a type of radioactive dust with it. and that type of dust combined with the chemicals (core exit and others) that were pumped into the Gulf of Mexico to stem the leaking oil wells left by Exxon.) |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1522788 United States 09/01/2011 01:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The models show a series of 100-200 foot tall waves hitting the East coast of the U.S. about once per hour for several hours. 100 foot waves carry massive strength. 200 foot waves are unimaginable. The first few waves would knock down most structures like homes and small buildings. The proceeding waves would not have debris to wash in...like wrecking balls smashing into larger buildings. There's a tremendous amount of water being blanketed in with these scenarios. By the time the last wave hit you could figure that the majority of the coast line would be missing...any flat lands would be completely inundated...there will be little to stop them. The computer models show the water going in as far as western Tennessee in worst case scenarios. Quoting: Idgits The models used by Day and Ward. Possible, but not probable outcomes even for a "worst case scenario". Other computer models and simulations show only a 9 foot wave reaching the US eastern seaboard. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1522788 United States 09/01/2011 01:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What if the mega-tsunami could only occur locally from a major landslide of this type. Local effects would be devastating (and I am not downplaying these effects), but in truth only a small wave propagates out over thousands of miles. But now, most everyone that has heard the stories or viewed the program believes that it could occur trans-atlantic because of the presentation in the media. What if it is a cover. So when the mega-tsumani (of any height) occurs on the US east coast the cause of course will be identified as the landslide. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 995876 United States 09/01/2011 02:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thought that maybe a comparison would be valuable. An area where we know earthquakes are very active...the state of California...had only 52 quakes yesterday. California is roughly 1500 times the size of this island so...to have nearlt 200 in a 24 hour period is really something phenomenal! Only 490 in Nevada and California combined in the last 7 days. In comparison, there's been approximately 733 in the past week. That doesn't come close to the previous week in El Hierro though...1878 quakes in that previous week. And remember...that's all happening in a VERY concentrated area! Alaska is also very active...over there we saw 242 quakes in the past week. And, Alaska is also something like 6,000 times the size of El Hierro Island and is EXTREMELY active seismically. El Hierro is 104 square miles. California is 163,395 square miles Alaska is 663,267 square miles People...this is a LOT of shaking for a very small area! |
