Some Thoughts.. and Questions.. About ME... and My EGO.

Ego- Latin, meaning I or Self.
1) A person's sense of self-esteem or self-importance.
2) The part of the mind that mediates between the conscious and the unconscious and is responsible for reality testing and a sense of personal identity.

There has been some discussion about the dissolution of Ego.
These are some questions that I cannot answer- so perhaps YOU can help me:
A) Is that really possible?
B) What does that really mean?

First let me say that, personally, I am a PERSON... a real, live HUMAN BEING. That said:
1) I have an Ego.
2) I wouldn't exist without it.
3) Since this is a discussion about Ego, that means this is a discussion about ME/MYSELF and I.

So where am I going with all of this?

Well anyway since this is a discussion about me- let's talk about me. Personally; at this point in my life, I'm going through what is termed a "mid-life crisis". According to the link above: "The goal of individuation, during the second half of life, is for the ego to assimilate the Self and come to terms with it in a cooperative way."

What does all of this mean for me?

Let me start by saying I have been on a hiatus from this forum because I was asked to by someone I care about. I'm learning a few life lessons on the way.
1) People are judgmental.
2) People are hypocritical.
3) People have a combative nature.

I'm including myself into this determination.

So... there's a lot of talk on this forum (and elsewhere) about love and communication.

Personally, I'm not seeing it. If someone truly wants these things:
A) True love conquers all.
B) Communication is key.

How can one have true love if their ego prevents them from having open and honest communications? How can someone have open and honest communications with those who are too judgmental and combative in nature to listen to other peoples' stories? We ALL have our story. For me, love is tolerance. That means listening without throwing judgment prematurely and without being so combative by nature that communication is effectively blocked.

I'm saying all of this because it gives some insight into my behavior and motivation. My biggest motivating factor in life right now is that I don't like seeing ANYONE (or anything) being or getting hurt... and that means emotionally as well as physically.

(With that said it's a very tough call, for me, on that one concerning the chemtrail sprayers, those who control them, and those who defend them... just HAD to throw that in there didn't I?).

Anyway, if I see someone who is obviously going through a tough time or whom I think is being attacked or judged unfairly, I will:
A) try to comfort or be there for them.
B) try to defend them.

...I think I am this way because that's what I wish for others to do for me. At this point in my life I'm tired of being attacked and I'm tired of trying to defend myself.

I don't think that makes me a bad person or "two-faced" or a hypocrite. Ultimately, I am still a person and yes I can be judgmental and combative even ( -especially If I think someone is being unfairly attacked).

So... these are qualities I think we all need to work on because it bothers me to see people say one thing but act the opposite.
