This took place in the store while the child was strapped into the child seat in the cart.

Then the child had to undergo rabies shots which by the way are very painful as the large needle is inserted in the gut.

The child became extremely sick with sores and swollen joints.

If Wal Mart does not pay for this from the BILLIONS they gross the company should takes its place among other infamous groups such as the KKK, Black Panthers and the Nazi SS.

It can be the reason some businesses closed down and people don't have a job and they would not care, they would shop at Walmart. The ripple effects of others losing their job and not having money to spend at Walmart shoppers jobs and they won't care, they will shop at Walmart.

Then when there is no where to shop because they didn't care, they'd all have to shop at Walmart (but they won't care)

I know people like that and when you turn a blind eye on what happens to others, that same blind eye can't see what happened to you.

It most likely flew in through a dock door or even right through the front door and was probably not even noticed. Then looking for a way out - wound up in the store. Now you have a scared animal that for some reason attacked - it's no one's fault. It's just unfortunate.

Should Wal-Mart pay the medical bills? For good PR, yes. Obligated? Nope.

I think Wal Mart has liablitly insurance that would take care of this small medical bill. They seem to want to hang onto every penny they can. Are they worried their rates will go up with their huge account over this?

The people who shop in their stores are usually poor. It would be nice to help out this family, wouldn't it? Especially since they want to seem Christian and like they are helping communities.

I see birds in stores and malls that fly in the automatic doors and get trapped. It could happen with bats also. It was not a bat problem at the store, it was an accident, but I think they are rich enogh to foot the bill.

Go into any big box store and you will see birds in the rafters, even flying around. You usually would not see bats because they are nocturnal but I guarantee they are there.

If Walmart was selling bats or had introduced bats into the store to eat insects then they would be liable; but the bat being in the store is an act of god.

So it would be good PR for Walmart to pay for the medical care but they are not liable.

Everyone who insists they are ask yourself would you want to be liable if someone at your house was bitten by something that wasn't your pet? Or is it different because Wal-mart is a for profit organization?

So? How does this make anyone responsible? What if someone brought it in a bag as an "act of terror", so to say? Maybe you`ll cal for TSA-style terrorizing of all shoppers? naked scanners? And i bet they are coming, just a matter of time. Why? Because of people like you and the mother.

It is just good customer service if they pay this bill. It won't make them go broke by any means. Like if you go into a classy business, like a restuarant, if you have a problem with your order, even if it is not the restaurant's fault, they will fix it as a courtesy to keep you as a customer.

Walmart doesn't seem to care much about their customesrs. These victims probably have no health insurance and are now stuck with an overwhelming hospital bill. I think if Walmart wanted to show their appreciation for people who regularly shop there, they should just pay the bill and say sorry.
