In fact, tantra is really a hands on religion.

I've never thought of tantra as a religion, it's more like a kind of technology.

Is there any reason you are choosing to cast it in this light as opposed to another? hmm

Just words, to me.

If anything, tantra is more like an approach. If I could REALLY term tantra, without taking away from its essence, I would say tantra is "An Approach"

Any label though, is incorrect. A label is simply a way in which we attach a term to something, so we can use that term to represent it while mentioning it to others. No labels will ever be perfect, you know?

I definitely understand where you are coming from. My teacher never referred to it as such, I guess its just a choice of word I chose in the moment.

To me, religion is a vehicle, that gets you from point A, to point B. point A refers to where you are right now, and point B refers to an awareness in which you are united with your Source.

That is MY view on religion, so in MY view, tantra is a religion. A Vehicle, to get you from point A, to point B.

However, other people have different views for what religion is, and certainly tantra would not fit in those views.

Keep in mind, though, tantra in my eyes, would be considered an open source religion. Meaning, it is not a closed system. There are no rules, laws, or set things you MUST or MUST not do.

You can call tantra a religion, a science, an art, a form of spirituality, an essence, a Way, an approach - so many different things.
