X2.1 SOLAR FLARE + CME - just now

Yup, sounds like a classic X2.1 Solar Flare effect.

I live in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Have been noticing wierd weather for some time. Noticed something odd today about the weather and its possible connection to the CME’s that occured recently and the space weather warnings of geomagnetic storms now forecast as a result. The following map shows a semi-circular front ahead of a plume of moisture pushing up into the Pacific Northwest from the southwest. Thought it odd because there appears to be some type of wave in the atmosphere ahead of this warm push of moisture. Earlier weather images shows a more pronounced wave.

Just out of the blue I thought I’d look up the TEC levels and guess what? The Total Electron Count for 01/23/12 at 20:30 UT where this wave appears to come from is very high! This is new to me, and I’m no scientist or meteorologist, but it sure looks like there is a connection. Seems that there is some kind of electromagnetic dynamic between the formation of this wave and the CME’s that are occuring. Perhaps some of you already known this, but I didn’t.
