Ringing Ears *response meant for another thread, oops!*

I had a loud and disruptive ringing in my right ear for months and I hadn't noticed it was gone until reading this thread.
I live in Utah right on top of a fault line, but didn't know there was a connection with the humming sound and earthquakes, although we haven't had one. I do smell ozone and occasionally sulfur in the air too.
Anybody else get curious enough to find out what frequency or note they've been hearing?
Mine oscillates between a higher and lower tone as if each one is struggling for dominance. I believe it was F to D, but it's been awhile.
