the line that powers the fan is blown. it's up in the ceiling, which has no access except going into the single piece of ceiling panel.

so, we are going to reroute to the working part of the electrical panel. we'll just have to run the wire across the ceiling and down the wall. it'll work. we're going to do it tomorrow. my dad is tired from all trouble shooting.

me too. i think i'm going to take a nap. my head hurts now.gaah

Ok...sounds strange that the actual wire would be blown. Be careful Tiny! I hope you guys are checking things with a volt meter...

I've got a lot of electrical experience...if you need advice, let me know.

Sleep well, my friend! afro

i certainly will ask you. the wiring is original. could be anything from animals to just too old to work. rather scary if you think about it too long. but, i'm not going to trip over it.

thanks.hugs

this is excellent advise. it would also be good to have a small pick like devise that can crack window glass.

the knife, whistle and light would be handy for many situations. ohyeah

Thanks Tinygreen...I can always count on you!

I saw a tool on Amazon that has all the tools in one, including a car window breaker and some other tools too...

Why not carry some simple, tiny, inexpensive tools in your pocket or purse at all times???

Huh, my trees are being mobbed by blackbirds right now...that's never happened before...NEW MADRID DOOM!!!

Are they starlings? They tend to swarm this time of year in this area. It's a pretty impressive, but noisy, sight. I sat and watched them swarm over the house one day and there was a steady stream as far as you could see in all directions. Lasted a good 15 minutes, too.

Yep, I think they were starlings...I've seen swarms of them flying in the sky...doing all kinds of fancy coordinated turns and swoops. Pretty cool, until they are surrounding your house...then it's like the old Hitchcock film, "The Birds" scream

I would burn to death working to free the baby. Fire fucking shmire...pain can kiss my ass in a situation like that!!!!

I always carry a pocket knife! So, I doubt either the baby nor I would be burned!

Those Leatherman tools are very nice. Do you carry it in your pocket or in a holster type thing? I carry one in my motorcycle "glove box", just in case.

Is it the old "knob and tube" style with each wire running about 6 inches from the other wire, with NO ground wire?

Hope not...

Oh, nice! It's smaller than I imagined. I could live with that...mine is much larger and would not be good in the pocket. Thanks for the pic!
