No, what I'm saying is when you look at a topographical map and you see words like Guadalupe MOUNTAINS, Corpus Christi BEACH, that's what it means....mountains and beaches. There's no ego to a mountain. It's a mountain. Some big, some small....still a mountain. Beach on a gulf, still a beach. I'd say Texas has a better beach than Arizona! No offense to Arizona, btw...I love Arizona.

By the way, been to Mt. Rainier and to California and to Hawaii. All very very lovely. Enjoyed my visit in all of those places.

Try living in California. Apparently everyone here is a granola-eating, delusional, pro-big government, ultra-liberal. That seems to be the picture a lot of Americans have in their minds. Moderates and conservatives make up a good portion of our population, but everyone is painted with the same brush. I hear "can't wait for california to fall into the ocean" and "I can't wait for california's budget crisis to get worse, you deserve it...." all the time.
The Democratic Party has done some good working on equality for all the citizens here, but have gone way over-board catering to illegal immigrants (non-citizens) and their supporters. The social program gravy-train has bled the state really badly, and there has been a general lack of fiscal responsibility, which is why California has slipped down-hill. But it is amazingly diverse, in topography and people. The mountains, forests, deserts and ocean are still unbelievable and amazing. I'm sure Texas, also large, has a wide range of environments, natural features and human view-points. The problem is, many people associate Texas with narrow-minded, intolerant blow-hards... and California with ultra liberal hippies. They are part of the picture, but they aren't the whole picture.

I can be in Boston in about 2hrs, i will head out in the morning to see my Red Sox play at Fenway Park. I finally got front monster seats left field.

Yes! Back in '09, my wife (then gf) lived there. Been there a few times, but mostly only to fly in and drive up to her house near Providence.
Been to a few bars, but www.themeaneyedcat.com was my fav!

As for the temps, aparently yesterday was the 85th day this year of 100 degrees plus - and yes, that's a little over the top
