Just another sad reminder of the bullshit that is spewed to us from Washington whether it be EPA, Securities or "Security" legislation. Keep the Corps making the bucks...that's their goal. Period. Washington stooges..get ready for a lamppost party. Coming to an upper class neighborhood near you. I'll be there. |

Besides that just stepping outside here in SW Ontario I could say even greater numbers. The honey bees I do see are very sedated looking and clumsy. Mosquitoes this summer have been pretty much nonexistent in my city, the chemicals they are using to control pests are just way to harsh and have impacted things greatly in less than a decade. Besides that, local urban wild mammals all hang out together when looking for grubs. |

So, we are not only eating manipulated genes and foreign proteins never tested on human subjects for health risks, but we are also consuming these pesticides as they are absorbed through the vascular system of the plant and become systemic to the plant (food). The best way to avoid consuming these toxins is to eat only certified organic food as it cannot contain GMOs or be grown with these pesticide treat ments. Do not trust the USDA, EPA or FDA. They are all compromised and regulate for the profit of the corporations, not the welfare of the American citizens. |

"If the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live. No more bees, no more pollination, no more men." Don't know if Cayce said anything about the bees. Would be interesting if he had. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1552077 Don't know if Cayce said anything about the bees. Would be interesting if he had. Ole Al said it but it's not totaly true. Honey bees are an introduced species. There are other pollinators. Now if they go too were down to wind pollinated crops. Hope everybody likes wheat and corn. There's also self pollinating plants. Wiki says only 10% of flowering plants are pollinated without animal assistance. |

Besides that, local urban wild mammals all hang out together when looking for grubs. Wild honey bees in North America are having more troubles than corporate poisoning. To get my colony through to next year they need to be treated for Nosema {fungus related}, Thoracic and Varroa mites. The later two were introduced from asia and all of them tend to do more damage to colonys weakened by pesticides. Last time I was buying frames the bee guy made a point of telling me that he could not guarantee the saftey of the wax as so much pesticide is absorbed into it. |

In scarce new years the Japanese and especially the Chinese HAND POLLINATE with small wands or q-tip like tools A tedious process requiring cheap labor and desperation |

Problem w the certified organic is that YOU don’t know what the organic farmers neighbors are spraying and which way is the wind blowing. What if your organic farmer has all his neighbors around him spraying? Organic can no longer be trusted. Unless maybe if grown under plastic cover. I know a chicken egg farmer certified organic BUT he feeds his chicken only regular corn NOT organic feed. I feel sorry for those chicken. He’s a fraud and so is the organic certification program. . |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70962533 BEES are essential to certain types of pollination. particularly pollination within a certain flowers.. wind will not do close pollination... for some reason where I live now... I have more bees this year I have ever seen on what I grow.. its lovely to watch. I am not a bee keeper. I just love them in my gardens and this year those gardens were packed with bees. best I have seen in years. |
