Va is still shaking

is it very close to DC???

No offense but I grew up in CA and only recently moved out here but... A 2.1 you definitely wouldn't feel in CA. Now I know the rocks are more solid and therefore transfer more energy more rapidly and forcefully and completely, but it's still a 2.1. I bet it could easily be mistaken for a large pickup truck or even a big rig rolling by.

I've been watching the quake maps for awhile now, every 100 years or so VA DOES get quite a shaker. Some epic ones have even centered themselves in Roanoke in the 1800's

Small eq's pop up in random places at least once a week on the east coast, just about every week of the year. It's especially to be expected after a big one.

wow VA must be really low on things to do that people still are posting every little m2 aftershock. after you have moderate earthquake like a 5.8 - you get aftershocks for awhile. it's not a conspiracy or mystery or breaking news every time you have one. get a grip!

You know, I felt something a couple of minutes ago and started looking at the usgs site and didnt see anything. I scroll past the pins and this is the first thing. Only felt a little vertigo but the roof in the business park building im in creeks during all the shakes we've had here lately... I'll start to feel motion sick then the roof will begin to creek.

It's actualy calmed down over the past 100 years or so.

This one was too small for me to feel here in SW Virginia. I noticed that we haven't had any aftershocks (Registered)for a few days.

There's more going on beneath the surface that is causing all this rumbling. C'mon ya gotta know.

Alot of people I know keep feeling the aftershocks. It might be specifics of where we live and work, but I think there was some sliding that went on with that big e.q. Science as we know it is all theories so I don't give a fuck when people say "It's because it's a solid piece of granite" Yea well it felt like the whole piece moved.... Wait until the Californians get 2 feet of snow...We'll see who the pussies are then!

Many areas in the mountains of CA DO get 2 feet of snow. If it happened in LA for example we'd talk about for a little bit since it would be something different, but then we'd move on. We wouldn't be on GLP reporting every new snowflake
