** UPDATE: EASTERN SEABOARD SHAKING HAS TEMPORARILY STOPPED IN NORTH JERSEY

>> I just wanted to report that the shaking and floating and rattling stopped at about 3 AM last night. It started on Tuesday night, got more intense on Wednesday and then continued for 48 hours unabated all the way through last night until about 3:00 AM and then it finally stopped. The beds aren't shaking and I don't feel that floating. To reiterate, I live in Saddle River, NJ, which is the town right next to where that Original Poster of the Eastern Seaboard Shaking thread lives. So whatever was happening, it has now stopped, my neighbors are confirming it too that they don't feel it, as are my co-workers who felt it in the building all week that I just spoke too.

It was still shaking violently last night (Friday night), it definitely was at its worst right before it finally stopped. I don't know if that means that this is the calm before the storm or what it means. But I was talking to some in our community who have researched this more than I and they think that we are building up to a major earthquake somewhere in the Eastern half of the country, anywhere from the New Madrid all the way to the East Coast. They think we're feeling the seismic waves that are coming from some area, somewhere in the eastern half of the country, and obviously these waves travel better in the Eastern United States than the west because out East we have "old solid rock" that carries the energy very efficiently over great distances, whereas out west they have "loose broken rock" that does not carry seismic waves over great distances. So I'll continue to monitor it. If you're in the Eastern half of the country and you're still feeling any shaking/rattling/floating sensations, please let us know.
