Re: Spiritual Preparedness - simple practices and meditations to increase self-awareness
It's wonderful to share your experience, what a life changing event. If your experience was of leaving and re-entering through the heart (portal/chakra) then that is what it was. Perhaps it is possible to leave the body through different areas. I would like to look into nde experiences more. Interesting about your sleep apnea experience too. Will you seek medical attention for it?

My consciousness actually caught on fire before I went through the tunnel and when I came back, like with the Merkaba or light body. My soul went through as a light being and came back as a light being.

It sounds like a kind of purification? Have you felt completely different since your NDE? are you a more open-minded spiritual person since this experience? and what were your concepts before it happened to you? How old were you when you had the Nde?

I found this info at this link [link to www.visionquestastrology.com] - interesting:-

'I believe that kundalini energy is triggered in NDE experiencers, as well as in the general population, as we progress through the rites of passage of the six major outer planet transits that take place between the ages of 28 and 60:

Transit Corresponding Chakra
the Saturn Return (ages 28-30) the root chakra
the Pluto Square (ages 36 to 44) root and solar plexus chakras
the Neptune Square (ages 42-44) solar plexus and heart chakras
the Uranus Opposition (ages 40-43) heart and third eye chakras
the Chiron Return (ages 48-51) third eye and crown chakras
the Second Saturn Return (ages 59 to 60) crown chakra

Whether aware of their astrological/philosophical significance, or not, all people undergo significant shifts in consciousness as they pass through these important life thresholds'.

I have been researching this exit point on various sites and one concept is that the soul can exit from any of the chakras or even the physical exit points, eyes, nose, ears etc. Another concept was that the soul (in light body) leaves via whichever spiritual chakra level it has reached. It's a very interesting topic. Thank you.
 Quoting: Pharista

I have had corrective surgery for it, I had my tonsils and uvuala removed, it really seems to have helped. Although I kinda miss the nde's weirdly enough, but I sleep sooo much better.

I do view it as a purification, I didn't mention before, but was on the other side of my heart chakra was a sun. I don't know if you've ever heard of the Great Central Sun, but that's what I took it to be. When I came back I was filled with an incredible energy, like I could run 10 miles no problem. I was a pretty spiritual person before this event but this just confirmed everything for me and remains one of the most profound experiences I've ever had.

At the time I actually took it to be God although I don't know because it was so overwhelming, but then again one could say it was the "lake of fire" and that's given me some confused feelings. But I prefer to think of it as positive, especially when I think of the similiarity of Jesus' sacred flaming heart, that makes me feel better.

I had the opportunity once to leave through my crown while meditating but I totally freaked when I started getting pulled upwards. I still kick myself not going through with that.

Yogananda has written quite a bit about the preferable exit points, I can't remember much but I think he said the crown was the most desirable. I remember him talking about the ears and nose as well.
I've haven't heard of the corresponding transit Chakras, that is very interesting.

That's really awesome your mother took you on a ride.
I'm dreading the day my mom dies, that moment will probably trigger an nde for me.

'
' oh, and btw I saw you asked how old I was. I was 24 or so. Kinda odd for a person that young to have sleep apnea, I'm not obese or anything. But I did have large tonsils and long uvula plus central apnea in addition to obstructive and some lung problems at the time, just everything in combination I guess.
I'm 27 now.

Re: Spiritual Preparedness - simple practices and meditations to increase self-awareness
Yogananda wrote a beautiful book which I have read called 'Autobiography of a Yogi'. For anyone who may be interested in dipping into it, a free online copy can be found here:-

[link to www.ananda.org]

About the book: 'This is not an ordinary book. It is a spiritual treasure. Rarely does a sage of Paramhansa Yogananda’s stature write a firsthand account of his life experiences.

This spiritual classic has been read by millions. Followers of many religious traditions have come to recognize Autobiography of a Yogi as a masterpiece of spiritual literature. Yet, for all its depth, it is full of gentle humor, lively stories, and practical common sense'.

Here is a link to a time lapse photo collection of a little girl from birth to 10 years. It is the same personality staring out of her eyes all the way through and yet not one cell of her body would have been the same by end photo as it was in photo 1.

Referring to you 1st post above, I have a friend who loves horses very much and after the death of her mother some years back, she took up riding again. She is now a trained equine shiatsu practitioner and works with horses and riders to balance energies. She has worked with wild horses in southern Spain - she strikes me as a kind of horse whisperer - she knows and relates to their energies so well. It just makes me happy to see her follow her bliss.

Re: Spiritual Preparedness - simple practices and meditations to increase self-awareness
I hold a mindfulness practice group in my home once a fortnight. I clean and tidy the room, lay out blankets and cushions on the floor, light candles and burn oil or incense. I have some Tibetan bells which I ring to revive the atmosphere.

Sometimes four or five people come, sometimes one or two and sometimes none at all, but I make it my practice to do regardless of who chooses to join me.

I have my mac pc in the room so I line up meditations, music, talks in advance, for tonight I have chosen:-

Body scan meditation: which can be streamed from here: [link to www.archive.org]

Short talk on love for self by Michael Brown (author of The Presence Process)

I just wanted to share that in case anybody here would like to follow a similar practice today. Enjoy :)

[link to www.youtube.com]

I just wanted to share that in case anybody here would like to follow a similar practice today. Enjoy :)

I don't know what time, but I will be joining you. There have been four deaths in two weeks in my small church, two of which were very close friends. I definitely need to re-center.

Waking up is a process, for me I have been awakening for almost 40 years with an ever increasing quickening over the last three. The current events playing out on the world stage are a projection of our own individual and collective illusions and will serve the ultimate purpose of waking everybody up to truth imo.

Thanks for sharing, I will read through the link too.

I am glad you enjoy this thread Doodlebug - my intention in creating it was to
provide awareness prompts for those seeking them out. The atmosphere around all of us is full of body consicous illusion and it can be totally overwhelming. I lose my true awareness countless times every day but my intention is to keep bringing it back to 'reality' and improving on it. Being trustee of this thread is as helpful to me personally as anyone else benefitting from it, visiting this thread brings me back to true awareness every time - I cannot post on it if I am not present in my true awareness.

Re: Spiritual Preparedness - simple practices and meditations to increase self-awareness
Yesterday, I shared a practical method and train of thought to begin to become aware of yourself as non-physical energy sitting centre forehead in your body. Some call this energy soul or spirit, but those words can be loaded for many and bring with them all sorts of pre-conditioned reactions, so I would suggest finding a name or word for this energy of 'you' that works, without provoking too many negative reactions.

I choose to simply call me 'me'. Of course for many the word 'me' is deeply entrenched and connected to total identification with the physical body and all it's labels - gender, colour, culture etc. I will go into more depth about the many identities we attach to ourselves in a later post.

We hear terms (especially in Eastern philosophies) like, the body is a temple - again this has connotations of being a 'holy belief' so I prefer to think of it as a car, it is my vehicle to get me around this physical world. If the body is my vehicle, then who am I? I am the driver of course! This body is my car and I am the driver, I am in control of it (all my 5 senses) and not the other way around, at least that's how it should be!

So, becoming conscious of the word 'me' and choosing for it to now mean 'Me the non-physical being' instead of 'me this female/male body' takes a bit of time but it's worth the effort. Also on hearing other people say the word 'me' - this can be used to trigger an awareness that they too are non-physical beings living within bodies of matter - of course we have the double task of also remembering that for the majority of people - they have forgotten this!

So that's the tip for today, to practice attaching meaning to the word 'Me' to be 'Me the non-physical being living within this body of matter, my vehicle' as opposed to 'Me, the body'. Of course it doesn't have to be repeated in words each time, after a while it becomes an awareness, a deep feeling, a knowing.

We also begin to gain awareness of just how body conscious we have become and how deeply entrenched humanity and society is in this false belief system. 7 billion 'drivers' on auto pilot who actually believe themselves to be the cars they are riding in - crazy isn't it?!

I could provide SO MANY examples of what you're saying here, moment by moment, a continuous stream of them.

It's all about awareness, presence in the moment, combined with knowledge, links the present to the past, it's like passing through a time vortex or a wormhole, and understanding all things in a "holinic" kind of way.

You're on my buddy list!
