Because it would be to obvious.
They allready knew they wouldnt get away with it a second time, because of all the wtc doubts, Wtc7 story and Pentagon images and videos and ofcourse the doubts about the wtc attack as a part of conspiracy.

It doesnt mean they will not do it on another time......

If there doesnt happen anything the next couple of weeks that could be the perfect time for them.

IF what is being done is tied into seasons and times and half times, (needing to happen at specific times and dates) then the Calendar date is not as important as the day of the week.

Depending on which tradition you follow, different gods are assigned to the days of the week: [link to www.llewellyn.com] is an EXAMPLE.

Color and powers (aspects of powers) are also connected to days of the week.

Tuesday is Mars Day (The God of War) if you want to start a fight, Tuesday is the best day to insure war.

Sunday is the Sun's Day, it is a powerful day for wealth, Wonder, Success and Fame. If you want to produce a movie that will be a block buster, start it on Sunday.

Days of week are also important to what day you are born:

Mondays child is fair of face,
Tuesdays child is full of grace,
Wednesdays child is full of woe,
Thursdays child has far to go,
Fridays child is loving and giving,
Saturdays child works hard for his living,
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day

OP, reason is very clear.
They go by 11 year cycle of the sun.
1990 was when cycle of sun was at its maximum and when Bush senior made that stupid speech
Exactly 11 years later and exactly on maximum cycle of the sun 9/11 happened.
Now work out exactly when the maximum cycle of sun going to be next. That would be 11 years later on 11th sep 2012.

Rest assured that omething far too dramatic is going to happen on that date. Be it a false invasion or attack by outside forces or devestation from CMEs or something else

i'm thinkin 9/11 was a warning to the wise about the month of september, year 2011 - the other 9/11.

THE WHOLE DAMN 9th MONTH OF 2011.

and when we look at the forecast for this last 1/3 of the month... things do seem to be looking historically DOOM-y with a very high chance of SHTF .
