I WAS in favor of it. My son was raped when he was 5 by his counselor at a YMCA. I could have killed that sicko, easy, but they locked him up, where the courts have kept him ever since.

Funny, someone who kills someone in a bar fight will get the death penalty. Even though a life ended, I don't see that as evil as what that mofo did to my son and the other boys.

I don't think the death penalty is evenly applied. If the county doesn't have enough money to go through the very expensive process, the guy won't get executed. If he's got a crappy lawyer who doesn't introduce evidence, it can never be introduced, even if it could prove him innocent.

So I don't think our justice system is really equipped to end life. I don't think it is our place. It's too random, too racist, and leaves out one big part of what can happen to individuals - redemption.

I think the world would be better off without some evil people breathing its air. But I don't want to kill 99 guilty people and 1 innocent person just so the 99 can die. It's not justice if it's not justice.

So no. I no longer believe that we should execute people in the USA.
