What are your feelings on the Death Penalty?

I watched Johm Wayne Gacy's exicution and I can say with no doubt in my mind I am against it,only because commiting murder to punish murder is still murder.There has to be a better way.

why kill when you can use it as labour? It's a better punishment

To long of a process, just take them out back and put a 45 to the head.

Give it, for parents that starve, molest, rape and kill their own children..

I know that there is a better way, and I can only hope that our society can come to a better path.

They can clean the roadways, and in this economy with the counties cutting back it would be a good thing. This is what took place not too long ago, but not so much anymore.

I'm conflicted. I don't believe that God wants us to kill each other. But there are some really evil people in this world, who deserve to meet their maker.

I personally would like to take all people on death row, and dump them on an island somewhere surrounded by sharks. Give them enough food for a while, and some gardening tools and books. Then let them live or die as nature dictates.

All we would need is one boat going around the island, shooting anyone who tries to escape on a raft.

I always thought the south pole would be great. Drop some huts and let them roam. Or on an island in the middle of the pacific.

This is very simple.

IF they could PROVE 100% that someone really committed the crime, it could be considered.

Unfortunately, already a dosen people got killed, and found innocent afterwards, that's the real issue here.

On the other hand, I'm against killing any human being.

I am absolutely for the death penalty. But I would rather use them as lab rats. Why use monkeys, dogs and other animals for testing when we can test on human beings who have given up their rights to be in society due to crimes they commit? I also like the Australia approach too where convicts were sent to a remote island and have them live among themselves. Survival of the fittest will take care of many of them. We could drop ship food in every so often.

The death penalty is way to costly and does not work at deterring others.

i think it's an easy way out,death isn't as bad as everyone is conditioned to think,a more effective punishment is a continued life,and i mean life in jail until they die,killing someone just clears their karma,and the executioners take on more negative karma.

How bout the biological Dad and Uncle that anally raped a five month old girl . They took turns raping her and then laughed when they killed her by throwing her up to ceiling and laughing as she fell on the ground. She died from those injuries and the Fathers last goodbye was stuffing a baby wipe up her bleeding bottom to try and cover up the rape.

I WAS in favor of it. My son was raped when he was 5 by his counselor at a YMCA. I could have killed that sicko, easy, but they locked him up, where the courts have kept him ever since.

Funny, someone who kills someone in a bar fight will get the death penalty. Even though a life ended, I don't see that as evil as what that mofo did to my son and the other boys.

I don't think the death penalty is evenly applied. If the county doesn't have enough money to go through the very expensive process, the guy won't get executed. If he's got a crappy lawyer who doesn't introduce evidence, it can never be introduced, even if it could prove him innocent.

So I don't think our justice system is really equipped to end life. I don't think it is our place. It's too random, too racist, and leaves out one big part of what can happen to individuals - redemption.

I think the world would be better off without some evil people breathing its air. But I don't want to kill 99 guilty people and 1 innocent person just so the 99 can die. It's not justice if it's not justice.

So no. I no longer believe that we should execute people in the USA.
