User ID: 344 United States 11/06/2005 08:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I read about this awhile back. Thousands will be displaced to make room for a yachting club. Here where I live, there are plans to change the rural lifestyle dispite protests. There are plans to build a huge Scripps lab only a few miles away. There are plans to turn our 1 main street into a 6 lane highway!! from a 2 lane street to 6 lanes! That means homes along the street will have to go. There are many people protesting here to stop this and the environmental groups are taking Scripps to court, but building is still going on as if they know Scripps will be built anyway. Jeb just had a ground breaking ceremony a few days ago with a gold shovel on the scripps site. People here were there protesting. |

I think it was passed on either Thursday or Friday. It should be on Bush´s desk by now. Let´s see what he does. Maybe Congress went ahead and passed it knowing Bush wouldn´t sign it. We´ll see. |

If they´re successful, they can clear out abandoned apartments and move tons of molding, waterlogged belongings to the streets within five to 10 days. In some cases, the landlords alone can make the decision to evict. .... That´s space where imported workers could live.<< [link to news.yahoo.com] |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 36495 United States 11/20/2005 07:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The title "mass ethnic cleansing of black under eminent domain laws" is making me laugh.. THE CITY COUNCIL AND MAYOR THAT ARE DOING THIS PROJECT ARE ALL BLACK... Get the facts straight. I live in this town and I am white.. This is not a black or white issue. This is an issue of corruption, mismanagement and an unrealistic plan for a community that is struggling.. |

Once you think something is settled .... But then again this is in Florida. They´re not a part of the United States and have their own rules. Heil Jebbie!!! |
