Why is Israel so Important?

The Old Testament and the New Testament are the oracle of God. We need to give heed and listen. The Christian faith (and before that, the Jewish faith) was built upon the foundations of prophets and apostles. God revealed truths to them directly. Prophets and apostles were the spokesmen of God. The apostolic word is God's lamp. No other nation other than Israel had God's oracle. He used the Israelis to record and preserve His truth. The Cross of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to those of us who are being saved; and it is foolishness to those who are perishing. God chose Israel because He had a great work for them to do. He raised them up to affirm and teach that there is only one God. Before Abraham all the nations of the earth were steeped in idolatry and paganism. For 2000 years (before Christ conquered death) no other people believed in one God or taught it. The jewish people have been the teachers and preservers of monotheism (one-God) to the nations. Without Jewish influence, no other nation has ever believed in one God. They were the writers, preservers and transmitters of the Holy Scriptures, the Oracles of God. The jewish people were also raised up to give the world a Savior.. Jesus was a jewish and He conquered death and paid for our sins.
The jewish people were also raised up that they might save the world from moral putrefaction....Jesus told the jewish people "You are the salt of the earth" and "Salvation is of the jewish people." The moral and physical salvation of the world, the preservation of the human race on the earth depends on the preservation and continuance of the jewish people as a race. God has miraculously preserved the Jewish race... they are a miracle.

And if they are NOT God's chosen people, explain how little Israel managed to defeat 4 of the strongest Arab nations in the Six Day War! It appears to me that God was definitely on their side!

It's both! I was looking for some scriptures to support what I had to say, but then I stumbled on something that's a bit troubling. It could actually apply to THIS country, and it's not good.

Obadiah 1

This nation may THINK it's the greatest, but God does resist the proud.

And the scripture I was looking for is the one where God explains that He chose Israel because they were a small nation, not large, and because they were few in number, not many. Haven't found it yet, will keep on looking.

Its not. Well to the U.S. it is not. Its a safe haven for criminals when they get caught doing things in other countries.
