Check this one out:

Try 'asbestos removal' with google.

Try it again with norele.

Norele excludes a LOT of BS, like ads and videos (non relevant crap).

You get more relevant results.

I chose asbestos because is is a HOT topic, heavy with the law firms. Google gives you a lot of crap law firm type results.

Norele gives actual information about asbestos removal.

It is my brain that initiated this question.
I am an avid reader but no library can compete with real time datum.

I prefer Startpage (www.startpage.com) because they, as a matter of policy, do NOT record your IP address.

A lot of these search engines are powered by Google.

The first four or so offered by posters are powered by Google.

What's the point of not using Google only to use a search engine...which uses Google?

Google is fine if you don't mind all the paid crap bs listed 'top suggestions'.

Re: What is the best alternative to Google?
Norele, pronounced No"rel*e\, n.. Is a New Search based in Nashville, Tennessee. Tiny (small and slow,) but the best feature to me is the ability to scroll results verses paging. Then the results coming back as exact match, all the words then related content is another great feature. Needless to say, it is built for research, not making money. Thanks for trying it as I am the owner.
