The common term "God" with capitalised G is used to express the monotheistic aspects of the Abrahamic doctrines. It serves as a self reinforcing idea (every time you see it, say it, write it) and is the main reason religions can never be tolerant of each other. Anyway, I don't believe this mythical figure is the cause of the universe any more than I believe the native Americans Feathered Serpent did it. Primitive people describing forces they cannot understand with the only words they have. Not one of you has the truth. The truth... What you call God is nothing like the ignorant scribbling of primitive peoples. Whatever it is, it is not your spiteful Yahweh or bloodthirsty Allah. It is not in your Bible or your Quran. It is beyond our ability to describe... So far. 1) Title of this thread's subject suggests that "truth" by any absolute measure, is not what the OP here is looking for. 2) The truth has us all, it is not and never can be the other way around. I'll use christianity as an example : Christianity has many different branches . Protestant , Catholic etc . After speaking to many followers , those who know their deity , i asked about God's whereabouts and i ended up with a list of a few places . I checked them all and found nothing . Were these people lying or is there no god ? (one of the people i spoke to was a pastor , so no infantile quips about " i only spoke to morons" , please ) He breathes and is well, nearly 31 years of Age according to this Earth's Rotations to its closet Sun. i have this new cartoon background of all the planets now and eh pluto is not orange. nah and 1 green planet does look weird, great drawing byw you should ask him to make advertisments. |
