As bad as the outcome of this was, it is not surprising. It is beyond comprehension that a reality crew can follow law enforcement. That should not be allowed under any circumstance.
It has to affect the dynamic of any "raid" or other dangerous situation. A cop should not be thinking about there performance for the cameras.
Also, citizens' right to privacy should be considered. If someone in your family were arrested, would you want this to be entertainment for the masses? Possibly showing your home and family members present. And no, I nor anyone I know have ever been picked up on "COPS", lol.

If the kid's grandmother hadn't tried to fight with the police maybe this wouldn't have happened? From what I rememmber the grandmother tried to fight with one of the SWAT officers, and that caused his gun to go off, hitting the girl. How is this the officer's fault ?

The whole department should be fired. Whoever fired the shot, and his supervisor should go to jail.
