Ok, but the thing is, if these guys were such "experts", where the hell were they five years ago when everything was rosy and they were getting their $1 million bonuses?
I too though, think things will get way worse before getting better, but just when you think there is no hope - bang: something will come out of left field.
Free energy, or some levitation device, aliens or a way to desalinate sea water for next to nothing, or a new food source that takes care of all necessary minerals, vitamins and carbs etc in one tiny hit. Could be anything. But this will change the course of the world economy, and lead to a new surge in optimism and way of thinking, and the battle for resources will be no more.
When everyone capitulates, that's when things do a u-turn when people least expect.

The problem is rooted so deep that nothing can stop it from happening. We are at the breaking point and there is no turning back. I think a big trigger for SHTF will be a huge stock market crash this month. Things are very, very ugly right now. Business is slow and people aren't spending like they used to. People are trying to cut costs, are losing their jobs, and can't afford the luxuries that they once used to.
