Roy Wyre was handed the fine when he was walking his two-year-old German shepherd dog, Spencer, on Harvey Hadden playing fields, in Bilborough, last Wednesday. Nottingham City Council has now cancelled the fine and apologised to Mr Wyre after he contested the ticket issued to him by one of the council's community protection officers. Mr Wyre, 66, of Wigman Road, Bilborough said: "It was ridiculous. I thought the officer was taking the mickey. I was gutted – I couldn't believe what I was hearing." I used to be able to get a full shopping bag of hair from my German Shepard on some days when she was shedding but to be fined for littering is getting excessive. Maybe he should brush less and teach 'Attack' more :multleylaugh: |

Sounds like barney fife decided to give a ticket because he challenged his authority. Good on ya mate for standing up for yourself. Did the town council reprimand the community service officer? I live in rural oklahoma and we do not see this very often but I read things about this type of overbearing authoritarianism in Britan all the time. We did have a highway patrol officer who pulled over an anbulance with a patient inside then proceeded to arrest the paramedic who challenged him. It took several months. And much public involvement to fire that idiot but that bad "police officer "is no longer a threat to the public. |
