Housing and clothing to keep them warm and happy, and easier work loads than so-called "free labourers" toiled at, because you would lose all of your investment if you worked them to hard and they got sick or died. Then when they got too old or broken down to work we had to feed and house them for the rest of their lives. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4019589 Since we never got near enough work out of them to make back the investment, I figure that, with interest added to the principle, each one of their descendants, about 3000 individuals, owes me about $5,000. But I will settle for $1,000 each as a one-time payoff. is $30,000 big money? what the? i can make it within the a week. you should find a new job |

Even Lincoln wanted to send our property back to Africa and originally said "If we could win the war without freeing the slaves, I would do it"- Now these people are here, mostly on the Government dime, collecting welfare, food stamps and committing the BULK of crime in this Nation. I would certainly like to be paid for my families loss. And before you idiots call me "racist" or anything - Toss the Political correct bullshit aside. My family hails from Sicily and we WERE slaves to the Romans and BOUGHT our freedom. The fatct that slavery was ended is fine- BUT owners of legal property should have been paid. |

I see your point but Ill take the worthless slave descendents over the invasion of illegal aliens from central america any day. At least the descendents of slaves are US citizens have a right to be here since they are natural born citizens. They do need the dole cut off though. |

Free labour? We still have the books on the work we got out of "your ancestors". It would have been far cheaper to hire somebody. By the way, I don't live in a trailer, we still have nearly a square mile of land in the family. |
