What Do You Think - Both Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 Show Paris as a "Ground Zero" type Location for a Future World War
I started playing Battlefield 3 this week and will be playing Modern Warfare 3 by next week.

Something completely odd is that they both show a WWIII type scenario. Well maybe not that weird, but both have massive battles that take place in Paris.

In addition Battlefield 3 has a major plot development that involves a huge earthquake but doesn't seem to act like it was that big of a change from the status quo.

Are these games showing us something we should expect?

I'd prefer the Netherlands but that's just me.

It does seem to be a hotbed of controversy. The tension between immigrants and local froots always seems to be close to a boil. Especially from what I have seen of the French fighting with religous requirements for concealing clothing. Any time you screw with religion you seem to be asking for it.

Eiffel tower is also the perfect height for a nuclear weapon detonation (air bursts are more destructive as the blast wave can reach farther). However all these types of war in these games don't involve nuclear attacks other than possibly an EMP (byproduct of nuclear explosion).

Just played battlefield 3 for the first time, it rules. Yes it's telling, it starts out with a battle against Iran, throughout the battle there are major earth quakes happening there in Iran. I hope this is a glimpse of the future, doom

Don't forget EndWar either OP, this Tom Clancy game also has bad news for Paris in the narrative. Here's a small excerpt from the Wikipedia page:

"The satellite fires at least three kinetic rods down on his position, obliterating himself and the Russians, as well as large sections of Paris."

what's your favorite part about battlefield 3? how is the single player? and why so late on modern warfare? never got around to it?

as to your question, didn't they want to destroy the eiffel once anyway, being sort of an eyesore on the whole city...? lol

I like how Battlefield 3 incorporates even a flight simulator type level. I haven't played the multiplayer yet! Definetly looking forward to that. I haven't had enough playing time. What is your favorite part?

It is an eyesore and I'm surprised that the French allowed the building of a massive skeleton tower made of iron that would rust. I believe the true significance of the Eiffel tower is one of those Masonic Secrets.

The multiplayer is INTENSE!! I really love the weapon customization, they really got it right this time. My favorite at the moment is the SCAR-H with foregrip, eotech, and suppressor.

I just started playing the campaign mode and WOW, way more enjoyable than I even thought! Each mission is so unique, playing many different roles. Lovin' it!

Heard the single player sucks, most people get it for the multiplayer. Me, I just drool at the vids on youtube, don't have either still lol

Yeah but they know we respond well to symbols, we need symbols around the world for our brains to latch onto. Just that...well, when one symbol gets destroyed, that just has a devastating effect on us doesn't it.

True, they may be just looking for some sort of iconic building to set as the backdrop of fighting.

Some people might like the idea of shooting French locals while fighting a world war. j/k

The one thing that bugs me (and a lot of others) are the number of glitches in the game still. They shouldn't have released it soo buggy, but they were probably trying to be sure it came out before MW3. Luckily the patches are in progress and being released every day.

My brother purchased it for the Xbox360, my cousin for the PS3, and I played the beta for the PC.

I wanted to like it, but it just turned out to be another Bad Company.

The game does look pretty on the PC but that is about it. And I can handle them just fine on top of that.
