Concerned citizens called the police when they saw the suspect walking near a daycare with guns. Police arrived, and the 29-year old suspect pointed the guns at the cops who proceeded to shoot him seven times in the chest and abdomen. Turns out the suspect was actually carrying replica firearms - they were pellet guns. The suspect is taken to the hospital, and he spends seven days recovering. His wife is not permitted to see him at any point. He was released yesterday and sent to the county lock-up for processing, but oops, he drops dead an hour later. His wife says he has a history of mental health issues and was off of his antipsychotic meds at the time of the police stand-off. I'm not saying the police shouldn't have fired on a man carrying what they thought were real guns outside of a daycare center (not sure where I stand on that - I'm indecisive by nature), but whatever doctor released him from the hospital... oy. What gets me is that not all news outlets find it important to mention he wasn't carrying real guns. This article doesn't mention it at all.
