I was Sigma Pi (well, still am, really) and I agree Rev, I made some of my best friends ever in that fraternity and had the most fun 4 years of my adult life in the process.

I'm still friends with a few of those guys, and get this...several of them are doomheads. It's like a real life GLP session at my buddy's farm around the campfire.

That's awesome. I don't really have any doomhead friends, they all seem to subscribe to the "if it's not on the news it's not news" mantra... which is why I come to GLP for such discussion. lol.

Just to bring some stability to the thread.

I used to take the pledges to a memorial my group has, south of Atlanta, to a group of Confederate soldiers who initiated some other soldiers during Sherman's siege. [link to history.sigmachi.org] The first time we went, we got lost and didn't find it until about midnight. (Of course, the fifth of Jaegermeister I had been nursing in the back seat the whole way there played no small part.)

We tried to stay with our brothers at Emory, but it turned out, they had been kicked off campus, and it was a house full of girls. They were all asleep, as Emory seems to be not a whole lot of fun, so we decided we had just enough time for breakfast at the Platinum Club, a roadside strip club in Anniston, Alabama, on our way back.

Sophomore year, I almost got thrown out for smoking weed with a couple of pledges, but it was all for the best. Those guys are still two of my best friends. Fortunately for all of us, there's nobody around to discipline us any more.

Alpha Tau Omega. Whoo! That was a hell of a ride. Never ending booze, partying and hot chicks. I was sad when I ended up with enough credit hours to graduate...

None. Partying, getting drunk, and having sex with morally loose women wasn't my goal in life.
