I went to a Tea Party rally last summer, just to see for myself what was up. Nicest, friendliest folks I ever met. Lawn chairs and happy, smiling people. Not what I'm seeing at the Occupy rallies.

You speak about the Occupy movement in the past tense, but I think we'll see them back in force in the spring and leading all the way up to the next election.

Great video Dr. King was great leader and speaker very eloquent he shaped history and was assasinated because he was a threat to the PTB. As for the Tea Party I was very involved at its inception and at that time they had many different speakers all concerned about the constitution but sadly its been hijacked by mainline republicans not interested in the constitution, but votes. Talk about congress issueing war or our money and you are no longer welcome. I am done with tea party.

It took all of 10 years for the full-blooded Marxists to take control of the Democrat Party and it will likely take almost as long for constitutionalists to take control of the GOP. Don't give up so easily. We need to get hacks like Boehner and McConnell out of leadership positions. We need people like Allen West and Marco Rubio in leadership. MLK didn't give up and go home after a couple rallies and I'd hazard to guess his road was a bit tougher than yours..

The Tea Party is actually a continuation of the civil rights legacy. Just as MLK stood before the nation and challenged it to live up to its creed or liberty, so too do the Tea Party members. King didn't demand anything of anyone that every other citizen wasn't already entitled to. In that respect, the civil rights movement was an individualist movement, compared to the collectivist movement of OWS. There are no such thing as group rights in this country, only individual rights.

If you want to study a black spiritual prophet, look up Marcus Garvey. You won't find any praise for him in the mass media or government funded educational institutions.

But he DID try to educate blacks..to help them become self-sufficient! He didn't blame white people (unless they were truly guilty of some outrage, like forcing blacks to ride in the back of a public bus). I think you might have formed your opinion without doing good research and actually listening to MLK's words/actions.

Yeap, He has truly inspired me, and that is hard to do. I agree with him. The world is and has been going through a endless cycle of revenge. Nonviolence stops that cycle and is an enemy of death.

that isn't his fault. social has been manipulated from the start and now society is messed up. So blacks are acting like that because of society and the environment that grew up in.

You are aware that much of his work was plagarized? He is used as an example for that at at least one major university. Maybe the U of Vancouver?
